You'll also need some purple paint, seaboard insignia (which is in the chest in the cave on your home island) and a few other things I can't remember for the manor. The warrior I believe was 400, but don't quote me on that...I was just glad to finally get them so wasn't paying attention much to the cost lol
Well, I've hit the point in the warrior quest line where I either need to get insanely lucky slamming my head against medium/hard difficulty sailing mini games that I somehow manage to get gold on and be lucky enough to get an explosive barrel... or just pay $10 to buy enough pearls to do it... so I can place my crew cabin to hopefully finally get the warrior and do combat stuff. This kind of thing feels like a pay wall.
^^ Spending three God damn days to get the food trader was already enough of a paywall. The fact that now a bunch of stuff you need relies on chance is even worse
I can beat medium difficulty of most of the games about 50% of the time. Playing the hard versions though is like getting punched in the nuts by mike Tyson.
Well, then. I got an explosive barrel once. not at all easy when the mini-games lag on the iPad4. At least I know I can wait on getting the warrior, then.
Although I can't put it as eloquently I completely agree about the difficult levels on the mini games!
Any mini-game, just as long as its on Medium or Hard difficulty and you get the gold prize. I honestly don't remember which one I got it from...
Alright, thanks. I thought you might get the different removal tools from different mini games. I think I got a root remover once. But I don't remember which mini game it was.
Hi all, First of all, thanks for all of the feedback, thoughts and ideas - we didn't expect to get so much during the first week of soft-launch! Secondly, thanks for your patience as we work through the frustrations and issues that you've encountered. We've tried to focus our efforts on identifying the most significant frustrations that players have had - to improve what we can right now through tuning and then target an updated release to fix up a whole bunch more. Our priority for this first round of changes has been the fuel/energy system, the inventory getting filled up quite easily early on, and the fact that early on it can be hard to get many coins. So, for our first batch of changes: Live now: (just fire up Seabeard and this will be in effect) * Doubling fuel limit from 4 to 8. This will allow for longer play sessions and greater freedom to explore the world Incoming build (1.02) * Fast-track to food trader stand. Weve reduced the number of coins that you need to get the food trader by over 50% - this will ease the pressure on the inventory earlier as you have a place to sell all those food items that you accumulate, as well as giving you the opportunity to earn many more coins earlier in the game. * Earl Pearls through daily quests and mini-games. Some quests and sailing minigames will have pearl rewards. * GameCenter crashes - weve found the issue causing GameCenter crashes and this is fixed in the 1.02 build * Fuel regeneration rate - We are unable to tune this right now, but will be able to address this once the new build is live We hope to submit this build to Apple early next week, once its been tested. (note that this is not the 1.01 build which will be live very soon, that just contains bug fixes). Again thanks for all of your help and comments - we'll continue to make improvements throughout soft launch and I'll update you with all of our plans in the coming days and weeks. Simon (HandCircus)
Was just coming here to post about the energy lol. I noticed the change and it will go a long way to make the game more playable I think. Thank you for listening!
I'm not sure that's fair to say, most of the games I play these days are free to play and feeling frustrated is pretty rare as they're often tuned quite well. Remember, this tuning process is the entire point of a soft launch. I think a lot of people forget that fact and just treat this time as an early preview of a otherwise completely finished and finalized game. There's a reason we wait until a game has had its "official" release to post a review.
I like playing in soflanch and seeing the changes happen, I did notice to energy already and it was better, my only thoughts there are now I have to leave it longer before I can play again as it'll take longer to regenerate. As for the food stall costs thats a good idea as early game is when people will decide if they stick around or not, will we get a little bonus or anything for losing out on things that are changed after we have done it? One thing I'd like but don't know if it's something you deliberately haven't added but maybe an icon or image by an island to let you know there is a quest available to pick up? Even when your on an island unless you look all over and go inside each building you can miss out on them. Also my game keeps freezing up when GC connects unless that's what you mentioned already. Will we ever be able to change our chsrachters face? I don't like the little paint marks, too kiddy for me.
Adding new quest markers the map is something that we are considering adding. The GC connect freeze is the bug we've fixed - should be fixed in 1.02 (logging out of GC will fix this for now). We won't have character face customisation in the global release, but we will have some full face-covering masks (that are looking awesome!). We have a lot of ideas for new features and content post-launch and face customisation is definitely something that we can consider.
8 energy seems pretty much spot on, I can do a bunch of stuff and set up crafting and selling timers and know exactly what I want to do and be ready for it coming back to the game. If the timers are tweaked as suggested I think the issue will be completely resolved as far as f2p goes.
"Yes Vaginia there is a Santa Claus" thanks guys I'd like to see the Swap House hold special items as well as furniture and clothes since that would make adding friends a useful thing. Right now you can sell the same items as the stores and you can't even undercut their prices but being able to trade or even buy a ChampionLobster or RockFish from friends would be a real winner in my opinion
