Today I got a bronze piece when mining. I'm only a Level 2 miner. Woohoo. Rare, but they do exist. I will note something different I did today. I logged into FB to make my game accessible from my tablet. And then I was playing on my tablet for the first time when I came across it. I doubt that has anything to do with it, but just thought I would mention it...it wouldn't be completely unreasonable to assume you might have a higher % of finding certain ores if you are logged into multiple devices, but a bit of a stretch to think that.
I can't decide if this is good news or bad. My 2nd level miner has collected about 50 pieces without ever seeing any bronze ore. This means even if my very next attempt turns up a bronze piece then the odds of getting a bronze ore are around 2%. I suppose I could always buy 3 at the forge for 30 pearls, but somehow I see the Doza king asking for one of the rare ore clad items in his next quest.

I've played for about two months now and in my opinion this has been the best ios game I've played. It feels like an animal crossing quality console game and the paywalls are non existent in my opinion. The game is super generous with the premium currency and gold is only limited by how much you want to play. Certainly worth a try.
I raised my miner to Level 3 today and finally saw my first bronze ore mini game. The other five were the normal iron ores. I got so excited I botched it. Oh well, I hope I get another chance this evening.
The game is pretty good. The only obstacle is how much time you want to dedicate to earn gold coins and pearls. The more you play, the more you earn of course. I haven't come across any paywalls that prohibit game playing. If I had one complaint- it would be the slow updates, but I think that could be said with any great game. Give it a try- I think you would enjoy it!
Yes, but a long way after. Once you unlock the Doza Seas there's a pretty long quest line to unlock him. Mostly having to do with fetching various food items.
For me at least, it was upgrading my miner to 3rd level that opened up the other types of ore. I pulled in 5 bronze ores and 1 silver ore this morning. Unfortunately that's just in time to reach the end of the current quest line. The storm is back!
I found 3 bronze ores with a level 2 miner in 24 mining attempts. Of course, this was after the 1.5.3 iOS update. Maybe that improved the odds of finding bronze.
You're probably right about the patch. Pre-patch for non-iron ores I was 0/75 at level 2 and 1/12 at level 3. Post-patch I have been 8/12 at level 3.
Can add to this..the pearls are pretty generous namely if you play daily and do the daily quests. Agree that updates are the one major hinderence to this app. Another (minor though) is that if you open up a new building to build, you can't see its requirements while another building is being built.
I can't tell you how many times I tried to kill some time waiting for a structure to be built by collecting the materials for the next one, only to realize I could no longer see the new one's requirements. I've done this over and over.
Aaargh! Got to the end of Doza. Waiting for the storm (ie. the next update) to clear. I'm very thankful for the update, though, as it's nice to NOT have the completed mission showing up on the mission tab (in my case, a completed ring quest that was just stick there). Thank you HC!! But, what am I going to do with my life now? Fingers crossed there's another update by the end of summer? (Too hopeful, maybe?) In the meantime I'll keep collecting pearls and stocking on difficult/long-to-make items. Fun times
1- Yep- I agree! The daily quests are more than worth it! And I totally agree with the building issue, I really plan my building accordingly and take a screen shot of the necessary items needed to save me from going crazy! 2- Doop- I'm right there with ya!
