I have no idea how you guys are enjoying this one more than JJ... I played for about 15 minutes and then deleted it.
yeah, I'm thinking my kids would like it... the difficulty is more geared towards them anyway... And yeah Gabrien... I wanted to give the game a fair chance instead of just tossing it after not being entertained in the first 3 minutes... =oP
Well I have played this for 2 runs only and so far it doesn't look bright, I'll give it few more rounds first, then maybe remove.
Not quite sure what there is to complain about here, other than the fact that the store items are incredibly expensive. It compares very favorably to Jetpack Joyride, Mighty Fin, and Whale Trail. And it's beautiful.
I'm in the "it's a darn good game" camp...but I like JJ a little better. JJ never gives you that impossible scenario where you're in the air or submerged and can't possibly avoid an obstacle.
It's definitely easier than Jetpack Joyride, and that's not necessarily a bad thing for many people, including kids or those who want a more breezy arcade/endless experience. And, there's the whole thing about Hothead's recent behavior, yeah. Having said all that, it's undeniably fun and well-made, and I wouldn't waste money on IAP additions given how readily the incremental bonuses are given out. Not bad at all, especially for a freebie.
Sea Stars is still free so grab it while you still can! I recommended it to several colleagues at work and they love it!
The upgrades are sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo expensive. I would have to dedicate my life to this game in order to afford even basic upgrades.
I know! It's probably the one major negative about this game, though, at the end of the day you are in no way obliged to buy the iAPs, nor do you need to. The way things are going it'll probably take me a couple of years to unlock the top character, lol.
Seas Stars is still free despite being advertised as being free for a day (almost a week now I think). If you like Jetpack Joyride and want something similar, or you're just looking for a fun game with great graphics, this is for you
The app has some seriously rude behavior on my device. Maybe it's because I haven't upgraded my system, but it doesn't respect its notification setting and keeps harassing me with pointless messages on the lock screen and the widely unpopular notification badge. It thinks it's actually important, it would almost be cute if it wasn't so irritating. On a positive note, yes, the game's pretty decent.
Same here! Keeps sending me notifications. I like the game but if they dont fix this it going in the bin. I'm sure this is against Appstore rules.
You guys do know that you can go to Notifications in Settings and turn it off? I've never had any problems with notifications from Sea Stars from the first time I installed it. One game that did automatically send me annoying notifications straight after installation was Blood & Glory. My mates experienced the same problems but we all went to Notifications, switched it off and the rest is history.
yeah, the notifications are really being abused with this game. i hate doing this for a game that i like, but had to turn them off.
Thats the problem, my notifications are turned off but they are still coming through from Sea Stars. Maybe I need to enable it and then disable again.
this is my problem too... I've always had my notifications off, and always hit 'don't allow' when the pop up appears for future notifications - I've also tried turning them on and then back off, and I still got notifications - ended up deleting it
