It's not that bad but could be better in audio quality. Hope they would add more soundtracks in the future, currently it's way too repetitive.
Best game i ever played on ios... This is so a heartwarming game which i will never forget that i have played this...
My opinion of this game has changed dramatically. At higher levels (level >20), the game is incredibly grindly. As well, many of the levels are extremely unfair, perhaps randomly, and put you in near impossible situation in which you are frequently outnumbered by about 5:1 AT THE SAME TIME with a hit point gap about about 150-200 in total. Any sense of strategy is completely lost because you are at the mercy of the number of swords that randomly appear, since it is NOT possible to match that many swords in time to deal with the enemies (again, I am speaking of high levels). Even if you use a skill to convert to swords, it will not be enough to get you out of trouble. In all, the game is not balanced at all at high levels. Good game at the lower levels, but it turns into a terrible grind at high levels.
I have almost the exact opposite opinion about higher levels. I am level 29 now and I feel that there is almost no challenge at all. I have the following stats: 5% Crit 8% Dodge 232% Power 179% Gold 425% Damage 4 Hearts I start each level with 123 power, matching 3 swords gives me +2 power, and when I fight an enemy my power only decreases by 1 no matter how much power the enemy has. Admittedly I have the best gear in the game, and I have all passive skills at max upgrade for my level and have built all the pirate ships. I have put every single stat point from level ups into gold and I am sitting on about 70K gold right now. Every level follows this pattern: 1.) Make random matches (prioritizing gold) until a gift box or a quest item appears. 2.) Get to quest item or gift box. 3.) Repeat steps 1 & 2 until I have collected 2 gift boxes and at least 1 quest item. 4.) Continue making matches until I have filled the Cooldown on my skills. 5.) When skills are all ready start killing enemies until 1 enemy is left. 6.) Get next to the final enemy and use the "Junk to Gold" skill, then use the "Gold to Swords" skill, then kill the enemy, then use "Collect all Gold" skill. 7.) Finish level I make about 3000+ gold per level this way and I never feel like I am vulnerable to enemies. On the off chance that a "boss" type enemy has more power than I do, I just drop my crew man next to them and they lose around 46 power. After that I can easily win. The one part of your complaint that I WILL agree with is that it is very grindy at high levels. I wish XP was more common on the prize wheels.
My stats are not like yours :O but everytime I fight a baddie my power doesnt decrease much, and I quickly gain more power, and all I do really is match gold. I am too overpowered for the poor evil pirates. Dont even have that great gear or stats. Maybe ykmp3 needs to rebalance skills and stats?
Power is the number you start with at the beginning of each level and damage is what you deal at enemies when attacking
TRB4, Thanks for your feedback. I believe I understand the issue with my play. I am only a few levels below you, but ALL of my stats (except for Crit and Dodge) are SEVERELY below yours. This is especially for damage, when I am still below 200%. Moreover, I start with only 40's power (not 123 power like you), and I lose significant powers with each battle, making for a huge need to replenish swords before I can even fight again. What went wrong with my build? Obviously, something has gone very badly during my build. I make only 600s gold with each battle.
So how exactly are power and damage calculated, and how do the swords effect that. Is there a chance of winning of you're at 44 and the other at 45? Or is it already calculated into those numbers?
When you build multiple ships, do you get the benefit of each one you have built? Or only the one you choose to equip?
I would suggest that you check the shop for weapons. At your level you should eventually see a +90% or +100% damage weapon. They sell for around 13k gold, but if your patient you can wait until a sale and get one for half price. If your over level 25 and you get really really really lucky you might win the secret weapon from the prize wheels. The secret weapon has +150% damage. Definitely try to get a better weapon soon. Also you really need to keep your passive skills upgraded as high as possible. Focus on ones that increase your damage and your power. That's my advice.
How do I change my clothes well in game besides killing the app so it lets me choose my outfit before I play.
Last chance to vote in Touch Arcade forum's Game of the Week is over the next few hours; it's a close call but Scurvy Scallywags is currently barely in second place: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=192140
I want to ask if any of you are frequently seeing this type of layout (see below). In my multiple playthroughs, I am frequently finding this type of unfair attacks. In this particular image, my character is at level 10, with typical skill progression. This setup eliminates any real chance of using your skills to get out of trouble and win the level. As you can see, the points gap between you and the enemies is (22+24+36+22)-20 = 84! At this level, you only get 1 sword per match-3. Even if you get the occasional match-4 to get some extra swords, you will still need to get at least 70-80 matches to close the gap. At this level, the enemies (except the stone golem) are aggressive and charge toward you quickly. How am I supposed to get out of this? Remember that, at this level, you only have limited access to certain attack skills. Even if you use a skill to jump away, it will only work once or twice between you get killed. Setups like this make the game nearly impossible to win with skills. Am I the only one who is seeing this frequently? Other posters in this thread said the game is easy to beat, but this is contrary to the experience I have (and I consider myself not to be a newbie match-3 gamer).
first of all, get more skills, you have 2 slots empty! take the "gold to attack" skill, it helps in the golem levels. and some attack skills are helpful too (the gun thing) to get down enemies health. drop the gold skills, gold will not be a problem if you progress further. you don't need skills for that when fighting the golem, always try to get all swords before he converts them to stones. then try to kill the golem quickly. and last: dying is not too bad, you get a fresh start but keep all your gear. I found the game to be much easier after dying two times and restart with all my gear and skills
