Schools a necessity but it's annoying. But since I'll be done with all the math classes the world has to offer by the senior year, I wont mind college at all.
Best part of high school was getting laid. Looking back, I didn't really learn anything useful. Everything useful i've learned in life i've basically picked up on my own.
lessons are fun depending on the teacher and who is in your class, also I go crazy If i don't speak with my friends for a whole weekend, so home schooling would kill me
School is not the only way top succeed, but you have to have some discipline and knowledge. There are some of us that making money is not the end of everything. Some people want to be also experts in their field. By the way, I just finished my doctorate and I am very proud of it. Furthermore, perhaps the easiest way to succeed is through school. I would strongly prefer a doctor with a nice school diploma than a self-taught medicine man. If you go to school to lose your time. I agree that it is a waste of time. If you are incredibly smart, perhaps you should go your own way and school would be waste of time.
Aren't you like 12? You've still got a looong way to go... You should probably just do the smart thing and drop out now, save yourself the hassle. You could get a job as one of Santa's elves! Oh wait, Christmas is over. I know they just did a remake of Charlie and the Chocolate factory so no Umpa Lumpa's are hiring. Maybe they'll do a remake of The Wizard of Oz?
haha! I always imagine the internet as visiting a strange sewer full of alien humanoids all talking in different languages.
I'm 15, and have a higher IQ than 5/6 teachers. School is a waste of time because I can learn more at my home, and so I'd spend less tone at school. I want to get my GED this year, spend two years at a junior college getting all my necessary credits, and then go to a university.
good idea, I dropped out in sophomore year, studied tech manuals for 3 years, many stories, many jobs, etc.. later I'm at the top of my field in technology, the only place to go now is management, which this year I am considering. GED is terribly easy, and almost a waste of time. No employer ever asks you for your GED or HS diploma, checks the validity of your college credentials etc.. unless you are applying for a top job making multiple 100k's a year. I also notice they stop drug testing after a certain tier. one last thing to say, if you go to a private school, you're probably better off there, I just assumed we're talking about general education systems in the US.
Just gonna toss my 2 cents in here... I just came back from vacation, and I was insanely bored at school today. The only good parts for me were between classes and lunch when I got to hang out with my friends. I mostly think the work is a bit useless... I mean c'mon, who really needs to know about half the stuff they teach us, like how photosynthesis works, or what happened in the 1920's? Most people will really find most of it useless, and for those who need it can research it on their own. Plus, having to present this info to a teacher who already knows it through some obscure project is really a waste. On the other hand, some stuff learned in school is useful, but that's mostly the stuff you learn early on, such as reading and writing. Besides, except for basics like that, I'm sure most of us forget the majority of what we're taught. If they taught us a bit less, we'd be able to retain more. May sound stupid, but that's just an opinion. So yeah, it has its ups and downs and could be much more useful with some modification. And it could be less boring sometimes. And to clarify, I've only learned a small bit that I have actually retained throughout my year and a half in high school combined with my 3 years in middle school, and only a fraction of that has actually helped me out or been of some use. So that should help to prove my point a bit. Again, they should teach more of the useful stuff, instead of the random crap that they do decide to teach.
teachers just push info. I have yet to find a public school teacher who actually teaches without just pushing some info from a book.
My school is 22nd in the state, and u take all honors and AP classes except for English. @dogmeat, exactly. My parents say it's not a good idea, but I dont get why. I'll be able to choose the classes I wanna take at a JC and I'll be able to focus on classes in the field I want to go into.
