Make sure to close SMRPG out of your background processes when you update (double tap home button and hold on SMRPG, then tap the red minus to exit). If you don't do that, SMRPG will greet you with a wonderful warning message to restart the game. We had a few crashes last time because people left the game on during an update - tried my best to circumvent that this time around.
Episode 3 by the numbers: 10 new objects: - Garfunkel - Cell Phone - Axe - Sunglasses - Disposable Camera - Bearris' Keytar - Ultra Botchanger - Sunhowl Toy - Cereal Box - Pizza 10 new enemies to conquer: - Badbot Drone - Badbot Brute - Kamikaze Bot - Sphere Bot - Sphere Bot Blue - Sphere Bot Green - Sphere Bot Purple - Super Computah - Gigantitron - Sunhowl - Evil Marty 9 side quests to complete: - 6 with alternate ways to complete that will affect future episodes 2 huge new environments: - Downtown Shadow Valley - The Jean Claude Van Dam
Just an FYI - the quest wherein you need to find Sarah a date has five possible outcomes. Try to find them all! One date is contingent on already having completed part of an Episode 3 quest and the other requires having completed an Episode 2 quest. There is also five phone numbers to find and use with the cell phone. On top of that we've incorporated 20+ phone numbers from pop culture - see if you can discover a few. I hope you guys like this episode as much as we do! We're already cooking up the next one.
Just downloaded and bought the deluxe upgrade going to start playing in a couple of hours (after tea) when I can concentrate properly.
So how does the free/deluxe work? I bought Episode 2 when it came out but don't know whether I should buy episode 3 or get the deluxe version. Kind of sucks to pay more just because I got ep. 2 right away.
The free version now has a Deluxe IAP which is discounted depending on how many episodes you've previously bought. Since you bought Episode 2, it is only a $2.99 upgrade through November 22nd (and then it goes up to $3.99 since it is on sale right now).
Nnoooooooooooo. It's crashing for me on iPod 4G. I'm doing a mission for the bounty hunter. I've done the first mission for him to go find (might have been billy) now I'm on a mission to get two hood soldiers and I have to go to the south east corner of the map but when it goes to the area change load it crashes everytime?!?
Oh no - this is not good. I'll look into this immediately - we never tested on a fourth gen. I tested on 3rd generation and had minor crashes transitioning between the city and dam, but it would right itself when I reloaded. Have you exited all background tasks? Also try completely restarting the game - if that doesn't work restart your iPod. Ugh, we tested this thing for like three weeks and the only device we didn't try (because we don't have one) was a 4G iPod. I presumed it would work there if it worked on a 3rd Gen iPod...
Hmmm, found it in my updates just now. Just wondering, wasn't it supposed to come out on the 15th? Not complaining, just curious.
Yeah, we were planning a launch on the 15th because new releases typically hit on Thursdays. I realized waiting until Thursday was unnecessary for an update. To all iPod 4 users - I'll get to the bottom of this. No idea why I was able to get it to work on 3rd gen if 4th doesn't work. The dam scene is huge and is liable to cause memory issues (we really regret making that scene so big).
Well atleast I've got the new endless mode and boss battle to keep me busy. After ringing the love line on martys phone I now know I'm going to need a lot more cash than I had Still hope this comes to Xbla or Xbox indie some day. It's by far my favourite RPG for quite some time. Until I get an iPad, then ill be able to play it on the tv I suppose.
I've been talking with oooooomonkey about the issue he's having on 4th gen iPods and I believe it is a memory issue. I'll be looking into addressing it tomorrow - please bear with me on this and I'll try to have an update into Apple as a quick fix. If anyone is playing Episode 3 on a 4th Generation iPod or iPad 1 and not having any crash issues - please let me know. I'll try to borrow a friend's devices for testing but won't be able to do so until tomorrow.
I've heard that iOS 6.0 can cause performance issues on 4th Gen iPods. I'm making a guess that that is at the root of our issues.
Yeah, iOS 6 for iPod Touch 4G has been the issue for many games, due to limited RAM. Seems this problem isn't just related to you guys. I think Apple just shoehorned iOS 6 for iPod Touch 4G in last-minute because of there being only one other iPod Touch generation.
I just updated the platinum version and decided to start playing on my iPhone 5, but everytime I try to get past the first battle (the tutorial one after the wizard gives you the notebook). it crashes. It's happened three times making the game pretty much unplayable
I'm going to do my best to figure it out and get it fixed - will likely cause us to have to remove some of the stuff populating the scene.
Just to be certain - it's the battle with just one soldier, right (if you're fighting two, you have data lingering from before the update)? Have you tried completely exiting the game and/or restarting your device? At what point is it crashing? If you can be as specific as possible I should be able to figure this one out. It'd have to be a code issue. This would be a new issue as we've tested pretty thoroughly on iPhone 5 and iPod 5.
