Got it! Loved the first, but never beat it. Now I have to play 'em both.

The art style of this series looks beautiful on the iPad.

I thought the new controls would be a step back, but they're actually a step forward in the right direction.

You could get by with random slashing in the first one to a far greater degree than you can in Samurai II - the analog controls + buttons add a far greater level of precision, IMO.

Two thumbs up for one of the greatest games on the AppStore ;)

Samurai II: Dojo is now available for FREE!!!!

EDIT: Honest mistake. Checked my Appshopper when I got home late last night and I noticed it was updated. Read the 1st line on the description that indicated free full version and didn't realize it was pertaining to the "Dojo" version. I do apologize for the mishap...

Samurai II: Vengeance on Mac App Store now..

    Hello everybody...

Today we released enhanced version on Mac App Store...

Samurai II: Vengeance for the Mac App Store, Brings the Ninja Brawler Home

Brno, Czech Republic – March 24th, 2010 MADFINGER Games today announced that Samurai II: Vengeance, a hack-and-slash action game, is now available on the Mac App Store. For the first time on home computers, action fans can finally experience the game’s cell-shaded manga graphics on a full size monitor. The new version features polished gameplay, enhanced graphics and choice of control options. Samurai II for iOS and Android garnered rave reviews from CNET, GamesRadar, PocketGamer, MacWorld, SlideToPlay, TouchArcade, and more. With tight controls, bloody action and just enough strategy to keep things interesting, Samurai II is ninja-rushing the Mac App Store with console-caliber fun.

Samurai II ‘s move to Mac brings a wealth of updates. Environments and textures are four times as detailed, while anti-aliasing effects have been cranked up to 16x the mobile version. The game features full HD graphics, running full screen at 60 frames per second even on low-end Macbook laptops. Say goodbye to virtual d-pads and botched combos; Samurai II now supports keyboards and gamepad controllers, offering a new level of precision control.

After the loss of his beloved, Samurai II’s campaign takes hero Daisuke from a serene village to the Valley of the Damned on his quest for revenge. With tons of enemies on screen, players can chain
together huge combo attacks with devastating finishing moves. It also features Dojo mode, where the samurai battles wave after wave of vicious enemies to hone his skills and seek high scores. With a wide range of environments, tricky foes and massive bosses, the game is an action-packed treat for hack’n’slash fans.

    Samurai II: Vengeance

    • Revamped graphics: full HD full-screen, even on older computers
    • Quick and gory battle sequences: hordes of on-screen enemies fall to your devastating attacks.
    • Intuitive control scheme: dice up baddies in style!
    • Lite RPG elements: unlock new combos and upgrades
    • Dangerous traps and puzzles: combat never takes a back seat to platforming.
    • Gorgeous hand drawn comic panels tell the samurai’s tale between levels.
You can grab it on Mac App Store or if you miss it somehow iOS version is here !!!

Any chance this has an option for touch controls like the first game? Been really loving that game, but I loathe virtual sticks. Would love to get this one too, but I know I won't fully enjoy it without touch controls.
