Thank you very much for your kind comments :)

Thank you, I also think the game looks quite excellent as well :)

If you like Action RPG games you won't be disappointed. A common theme in the questionnaires that the beta testers pointed out was that they loved the action and this game is overflowing with some intense action :)

I'm not trying to be mean but no one is going to buy a game for 5 bucks.

Please tell me this is a joke or that you're not older than twelve years old.

lol I used to have no problem shelling out $50-$60 for console games back in the day but now I'm so used to paying low prices for iPhone games it almost feels natural that I expect games to be a certain price and what I consider to be expensive.

But I'm happy with the price of Samurai Girl, many of our beta testers said it was a good price so I think you all will be happy :)

Maybe if we all get furiously generous we can just give the developer money out of our own kind hearted alturism. Samurai Girl looks excellent but not everyone has the kind of iOS gaming budget I've known you to enjoy. However, I think people are willing to pay a fair price in a competative marketplace (and the App Store seems cut throught). Just in case anyone gets any bright ideas I for one would prefer a higher standard price with no in-app purchases (even optional). If this game lives up to the hype here's to prosperity for AppsAsia and sequels for us.

Well the developers, Mobicle, are one of Korea's largest game developers and the Publisher CJ E&M (formally CJ Internet) is Korea's largest publisher. Us on the other hand will kindly take donations if you feel so generous :D

However, I do agree that people are willing to pay a fair price for games. I think that's why EA games are so popular but also big developers compared to the smaller studios have to pay huge salaries, development costs, overhead and all those other expenses so even making $100k or so would be breaking even so I think that's why they have to charge a premium for higher priced games. But that's just my opinion...

Lol, I'm not sure how this relates to what I said. He's suggesting that no game should cost over $0.99. People like that, especially here on TA, deserve to have a few pokes of fun at. I never knew $5 could possibly be considered generous for an excellent RPG that will last hours and hours. What's more is that I've never even seen a half-decent RPG released at a price below $4.99 with the exception of Battleheart and Wild Frontier, $2.99 and $0.99 respectively. Also, how could you possibly know what constitutes my budget besides what I let on. Not to be picky, but it's throat*. Also, there have been no iAPs announced. This game is coming from the guys at the top of the food chain when it comes to KRPGs. I was simply stating that it merited more than a dollar or even two dollars as you suggested, because simply, it does.

    Exactly right.

This is the main reason why I am slowly starting to get fed up with iPhone gaming forums.

I find it incredible as well, when i bought games in the 80's and 90's they cost a lot lot more and often didnt give me that much enjoyment. On iOS I still cant believe the price of so many great games. Now you get kids moaning if a games $5, ridiculous.

Must admit Samurai Girl does look good BUT i was put off when i saw spam posts for this game on a forum i visit often. No need for companies to spam any old forum

I apologize, it was posted in the correct forums (as I looked for the appropriate areas in those respective forums) and we were calling for Beta testers and trying to find the best people available. I chose beta testers from other forums as well.

I've been buying fully priced games when I was 13-14, and it didn't help when I had a Xbox later on. Although obviously I didn't buy as many PC/console games as iPhone apps, paying $0.99 to $4.99 and sometimes more for great games are certainly worth it. I've bought games like Phoenix Wright and FFIII on the DS at ~$30-40, but now you can get them for cheap on the iPhone. If people still find that expensive they should stick to free games.

    This will be out tomorrow?
That's strange because it isn't in the NZ Store yet.

Is this a completely new game or is it a port of mini fighters as the characters in the trailer are all ripped off from mini fighters?

Wow... interesting catch. Those similarities do seem pretty glaring in some cases. There is definitely a similar art style. It's borderline but if so lack of artistic integrity is a shame.

Erm, maybe it's becaused they're produced by the same company, CJ E&M?

Edit// In any case, to answer the question, it does seem like the main character here, Hikaru, is also a character from Mini Fighters so I suppose this is a spin-off. I haven't played MF myself but from what I saw from the trailers the action gives off the same feel, although one is a fighting game and one is an ARPG. Can't speak for MF but the action in Samurai Girl, as mentioned, is great, and actually I think having the fluid and exciting combat you'd normally get in a fighting game here is a plus.

Edit// Oh wow, side-tracking here a bit (a lot), didn't know they were under Mnet, which is the producer of one of my favorite Korean groups. <3

    Epic fail.

As stated, both games are from the same company.
    A company can't rip-off itself.

    LOL^

Anyways, is this going to be a simultaneous release across the world? If not, where's the NZ thread :(?

I don't know if the concern is about property theft as much as it is about provision of a fresh new produce rather than rehash of other material from another game. I guess we could start the Mario debate about how maybe it's ok for the same characters to be involved so long as the content is different enough from prior releases. There's a fine line between faithful sequels/spinoffs and unoriginal rehashing. Samurai Girl does show promise and it's not like Mini Fighters is otherwise avaliable on iOS market... so now where is the New Zealand release?

Don't you think that it should at least tell you that the main character is from mini fighters, and that the game is a spin off, rather than trying to portray that its a completely new rpg? I'm not bashing the game as i'll buy it nonetheless, but it does seem that they were trying to pull the wool over our eyes.
