I've only seen an edited version of Ichi that I bought by mistake. I'll hold my opinion till I see it in it's full glory. Audition may very well be an acquired taste, but my buddies and I were all pretty affected by it (one of my friends said he would never see it again). It wasn't so much the gore as the fact that it all happens to a guy we've come to know and like. I've been curious to check out Machine Girl (it's been on sale at iTunes several times), though it reminded me of another weird Japanese film called Tetsuo: The Iron Man. [eyemh8 beat me to this particular obscure reference]
Thanks for the heads up. You can watch that movie online. Just google 'Asian Horror Movies' and search their 'Full Movie List'...I'm going to watch it now......whilst playing Samurai: Way of the Warrior EDIT: I see there is a sequel - Tetsuo 2 - Body Hammer!
Alright, I'll try to dig up a copy of Visitor Q... Well, if anything, Samurai has certainly sparked some pretty cool conversation.
I own and have seen well over 100 Japanese/Chinese/Korean/Asian films/anime and have been collecting since the early 80's(yeah i'm an old fart ) and there's so many great films that a lot of people in US/UK probably would never have seen or haven't even heard of before....There's so much great stuff out there, tho by the looks of it on here a lot of you guys are well into them as well 'Beat' Takeshi Kitano's films i have seen many and own many including his Samurai one Zatoichi ...As this is a game about a samurai and an awesome game as well... i guess it's well worth mentioning it. I own a lot of Takashi Mike films as well and his films are well sick in both meanings of the word Just got my g/f to watch my uncut Ichi the other night and she was well impressed I could go on and on but that would distract from this game Clips of best fighting scenes in Zatoichi if anyone interested
