Wow... I really can't wait for the game. Finally a Zelda-like game on my iOS. :)

If they are basing it on Zelda (and it looks like they sure are) then I think this game is going to shed some light on the 800 pound gorilla sitting in the room...and that's that while Gameloft can make technically impressive games, they fail on epic levels when it comes to character and story. Shadow Guardian, NOVA2, and Eternal Legacy proved this. The games were based on other properties where the characters and the story were very critical to what made the games great and Gameloft just totally dropped the ball (especially with Shadow Guardian). Now they're going to make a game based on one of the most iconic characters in gaming history? I don't think they're up to the task at all.

Are we ever going to reach that point where we just get sick of Gamelofts thievery and stop giving them a pass because they keep giving us slick and polished games? Other developers are slowly stepping up to the plate...if you want a game like this then play Aralon!

    Rant over!

Looks really bad tbh. Aralon looks a lot better.

And after Eternal Legacy and DH2 I will just skip all RPGs from Gameloft in the future until things get a lot better.

Aralon is far from stepping up to the plate as far as slick and polished goes.

I haven't been a big fan of Gameloft's games, but I'll give this one a chance. Some of the animations look awkward though (like when he's slashing enemies on his horse) and I'm going to bet all the trademark Zelda dungeon puzzles will be ridiculously simple and easy. Maybe it will be decent in it's own right though.

Also, expect this to be 700 MB and a huge battery hog.

Wait, so now you're telling us that Aralon is also a rip off. What's the deal with hating Sacred Odyssey?

It's ok to see so many similar things but also I don't understand why a game can't have horses, dungeons, etc. C'mon, you guys didn't even play the game, and we don't know too much details about it.

    Aralon?!?!

For me Aralon is a very unfinished and unpolished game. A working Beta. Its very good and has some great elements, but i find it frustrating, awkward and difficult to play. Gameloft are getting better and better the more games they make. If there were better games i would be playing them, but as far as I can see, Gameloft are still the only company providing a full gaming experience across many genres on IOS.

Yes how are we ever going to play a zelda like game without the blond in the green hat! First this and then the end of the world? lol

No, I think everyone is sort of missing my point here. When it comes to character and story Gameloft falls drastically short. This is most apparent with Shadow Guardian...a blatant ripoff of Uncharted but without any of the charm that made Unchartered such a special game. Gameloft is GREAT at aping the technical aspects of popular franchises, but when it comes to the intangibles that make games awesome they just don't do a very good job.

But I'd argue that the Zelda's *story* is weak. Darksiders had more of a story than any Zelda ever has and it was an almost shameless Zelda clone with a male-centric focus. If you want to argue that several Zelda's have invented great mechanics, that they're great games, etc, I wouldn't dispute it. But story-wise? Shakespeare, they ain't.

Yeah, I'm not disagreeing with this at all. However, what the Zelda games lack in story (and they're not bad stories, just not great) they more than make for with personality and character. There is a reason that Link is one of the most recognizable icons over the past couple of decades. And Gameloft games are pretty much devoid of good stories OR characters OR personality. They just sort of exist.

    Playable on 2g iPod?

This may have been discussed already, but wanted to know if anyone knew whether this will be playable on my iPod 2g? Most Gameloft games work very well but I'm still feeling the sting of having to pay £3.99 for Aralon and then finding out I couldn't play it...

Amen. Miyamoto's games convey worlds more than "storylines". I think that the Wind Waker will remain one of the most emotional games I have played in my life, yet the story was incredibly simple.

Well some of them are bad like twilight princess or spirit tracks (a toon link is bad enough but now we have him riding trains rather than horses *face palms*). But wind waker and ocarina of time was what I thought of as the most amazing story game I've played. I guess it's just opinion but if you like zelda and have played most of their games you'll know where I'm coming from.
