I right clicked on the official website and it showed this: Play Mute Show Controls Full Screen Etc. Possible video soon?
I'm hoping there aren't gimped visuals. That the armor and texture work is as good as Infinity Blade, if this game ties into the ES series. I was seriously disappointed by Gameloft and their work with Unreal 3. Seeing they really push iOS hardware sometimes, I expected they'd achieve more with U3. Better textures, mapping, polygon count... Which begs the question, is Unreal 3 really even all that capable for iOS? Apparently NO ONE can match Epic and Chair implementation for visuals, with the engine. Everything else released using it so far is mediocre. I hope Dragonstryfe is a tie in, that actually looks good. If its a hideous generic game, count me out. It's not using U3 (for all I know), I just hope their engine looks good.
I agree, Infinity Blade looks like it's almost using a completely different engine than what March of Heroes is using- much more detail and texture in IB, at least from what I've seen. It might just be a question of effort. While I love a couple Gameloft games (Dungeon Hunters 2, Rainbow Six) their games definitely come off as rushed sometimes. I digress, I'm hoping (for better or for worse) that this game is a high quality, free roam, action packed RPG
Yeah, I agree. If you take a look (or even a glance) at the guns, they do not look like they are being used by Unreal Engine 3...
There's more going on in the screen on march of heroes than there is in infinity blade. Not to mention IB is on rails, and is a bit laggy on the 3GS. I'm sure gameloft wants their game to run smooth on all devices. This game isn't that bad looking, it's a step up from modern combat 2.
It's simply the Title screen animated video. It's animated exactely like Olbivion title was, if I recall well. I doubt, from the (scarse) infos gathered, it's a full fledged RPG. Sounded to me more like an addicting multiplayer experience, possibily with some Skyrim story connection. But infos are so scarce we could made up everything, it's not even sure it's Skyrim related, o Bethesda related, or wahtever (at first, with the Infinity Blade mentioning, I thought it was a new Chair project). It could even be a big joke from Toucharcade And the Dragonsfyre Twitter icon, it's a pretty 8-bit '80 icon...I even read Minecraft mentioned in some tweets, so it could be everything from a triple A photorealistic graphic RPG to a retro 8-bit indie addicting project. It could be interesting discovering who has the Dragonsfyre name/site registered....
I have to agree regarding the Unreal engine. Everything short of Epic/Chair developed games have been a mess to be quite honest. Something doesn't seem to add up to me. Seeing what Madfinger is doing with Unity really makes me wonder. Either nobody knows what the hell they are doing with the Unreal engine, or it's much more gimped on iOS this most of us care to admit.
I do not know if it's a joke but Hodapp just re-tweeted this: Rumors that @dragonstryfe has gone gold, also rumors it's been approved in app store? #wtf #dragonstryfe
I suppose it could all be a prank, but I'm holding out that its real. I just watched the trailer for Skyrim and dragons played a big role in it-I'm thinking this game is a tie-in. Also, there was that rumor mine report about Bethesda contributing to an ios game. Weren't we supposed to get some sort of update today (June 10)?
Well there's this: And some tweets from hodapp (which got deleted), hyping the game saying how it would be be the best thing to come out of E3.
There isn't anything really on that 'ticket' thing that mentions 'Dragonstryfe'. It could very well be a good prank.
The thing that puzzle me the most is that if you want to show a cool iOS game this week...you'll do it at WWDC or at E3. Both of them are over.
I'd argue that unless you're EA, Apple, Activision, or someone on that level, releasing something during WWDC or E3 is the worst time you could do it.
