At it's current rate (up by 17 since yesterday), it's going to take 80 years. So surely they will have to lower the target to 10,000 kills. 500,000 is ridiculous. Or maybe this is still a prank... edit - 10,000 kills would stil take a year and a couple months at it's current rate, so even that would take too long.
If they lower it to 10000 kills, people will actually play the web game and unlock it within a few days. Remember it got 2000 in the first 24 hours. But then every one realized it wont be enough so they gave up completely.
Well maybe if the people know that the target has been lowered. I'm not even sure how it's got any kills at all. The mini-game doesn't work for me. I've tried it on google chrome and on my iPhone and it's impossible for me to get any kills.
Worked fine on the iPad. Not something I'd enjoy but definitely doable if it meant unlocking the game.
That's what I thought. But why does hodapp seem so excited about it? If this isn't just a prank then hopefully whoever made the crappy mini-game isn't making the actual game.
2336 of 500,000 Dragon Souls captured. Now approx. 50 kills per day... this makes 18250 a year, so it's done in approx. 27 years. edit: added 7 kills.
The difference was that (presumably) Portal didn't come out of nowhere. It was well known and it didn't require effort to unlock, just some extra spending. I'd spend a few bucks on random apps if it meant this one would come out IF I had any notion of how the gameplay would be. At this point they're just asking us to waste our time. Worked for me on my iPod touch 4 and on my MacBook.
Yeah I agree I would certainly buy some apps from indie devs or whatever to get this to come out if it was really all it seems to be!

This was probably a Hodapp prank. He started it without realizing how to deliver it... They started a "team" of industry veterans, who were working with cutting edge technology for iOS - before the A4 (iPad and iPhone 4 chips) was even public? So, as this thread gained momentum, they created a crappy mini game which they thought people would play, to buy them some time to create something.... Because the mythical "18" months apparently hasn't led to anything even remotely real or tangible. I cant prove this is a hoax, but Hodapp and his compadres earned pride in pulling the wool - yet- they should be ashamed to blatantly bit&$ slap their biggest fans. I'm appalled, really. Lady Gaga for example, would never betray her little monsters - they way they did in this thread. You just don't do that. Especially, without commenting and apologizing for it.
