Hi, We are pleased to announce the release of Rush Rally on iOS, its free to download now on the iTunes store, 2 of use have spent a lot of our free time making a game with 72 tracks, 4 cars, and cross platform leaderboards all for a mere 40Mb download. The whole game also uses our own engine that has been a long time in the making, physics, vehicle dynamics, rendering all our own code. Feedback most welcome as we are working on the next installment right now (which brings the camera into the car and behind the car instead of the retro cam of Rush Rally). Thanks, Ste Rush Rally Brownmonster Limited -- The database for this game will be discontinued from Jan 2017, please upgrade to Rush Rally 2 for the real experience… TouchArcade Rating: Free Buy Now Watch Media Details-- The database for this game will be discontinued from Jan 2017, please upgrade to Rush Rally 2 for the real experience! -- REAL RALLYING IN THE PALM OF YOUR HAND! That's VERY impressive. I've only done 4 races and I can tell already I'm going to be playing this quite a bit. The graphics are wonderful, controls are spot on, and overall polish is way beyond what you'd expect from a team of just two people. This is great work, truly. Edit: It works great on my iPhone 6 but crashes right after startup on my iPad Mini Retina. Is this something you guys are aware of? We have both been in the industry for over 10 years, and I started rush engine 4 years ago (basically written from the ground up with all the experience from other stuff I've worked on). Rush Rally took a year exactly from when we started it to release, and is out on Android too (you'll be able to see people in the world rankings who play android phones) Brownmonster Well-Known Member Mar 19, 2015 889 22 18 Software Engineer /Company Director England http://www.brownmonster.co.uk #6 Brownmonster, Mar 19, 2015 Damn, i have it working on my original iPad Mini here, i'll have to look into it, but thanks for the heads up Grimstone82 Well-Known Member Jan 3, 2011 594 0 0 Northbrook, IL #7 Grimstone82, Mar 19, 2015 Last edited: Mar 19, 2015 I was just about to edit my post when I saw your reply. I think what impresses me most here are the physics. There's an arcade like feel to the handling, but you certainly feel like you're controlling a CAR. A ton of independently made racing games seem to struggle with that, and just don't feel like you're maneuvering a 3000+ pound hunk of metal around the track but I think you guys nailed it here. There's a very nice balance of arcade-ness and realism to the handling. And the fact that it's your own engine just makes it that much more impressive. I hope this game does really well for you, truly. That said, I just bought the IAP to show my support (which is also VERY FAIR, kudos for not overdoing it with the freemium IAP garbage). Question- I just unlocked the second set of tracks and I'm still only doing time trials but from the screenshots you posted there are other cars on the tracks... How many time trials do I have to complete before I hit actual races? Andre Well-Known Member Apr 11, 2012 3,643 2 38 #8 Andre, Mar 19, 2015 Wow. Looks really nice! Downloading it immediately. Here's a teaser for R2 aswell, notice we have added championship mode, skill modes (to get rid of them in the world rally section) and time trial. We also plan on adding damage. The other main thing is the controls are 1st/3rd person instead of helicopter chase. Its worth noting that the dynamics are true to life, except I've pushed up the power and grip limits to make it fun in that view angle. The cars i like 1000kg, with 700bhp and tyres that provide about 2x the grip of a normal car! Grimstone82 Well-Known Member Jan 3, 2011 594 0 0 Northbrook, IL #13 Grimstone82, Mar 19, 2015 Ahh, found it! Thanks! Any way we can get side by side gas/brake buttons instead of vertical ones in a future update? I think it would be a little more comfortable to play that way. Like Reckless Racing. And thanks for the prompt replies, it's always great when a dev is active on the forums like you are. Brownmonster Well-Known Member Mar 19, 2015 889 22 18 Software Engineer /Company Director England http://www.brownmonster.co.uk #14 Brownmonster, Mar 19, 2015 No problems, I'll see what we can do, we actually had this ready around Christmas and were hoping/waiting for an Apple Feature so we haven't touched it for a while. I'll stick it on the list of stuff. Thanks for buying it too BTW, much appreciated. I just hope we can get enough downloads to get some momentum going. Its much better when playing against friends too so make sure you get them connected up Grimstone82 Well-Known Member Jan 3, 2011 594 0 0 Northbrook, IL #15 Grimstone82, Mar 19, 2015 You've definitely accomplished what you set out to do, no question. That's the thing that stands out most to me when I'm playing it, and that's huge. I can't imagine what type of work has gone into getting the handling so spot on, but you've absolutely nailed it. I actually think this has some of the best physics of any top down racer I've played, and that includes the big ones like Reckless, Death Rally, etc. Your years of experience definitely show. I really can't praise this enough. Grimstone82 Well-Known Member Jan 3, 2011 594 0 0 Northbrook, IL #16 Grimstone82, Mar 19, 2015 Just stay active in the forums and I'm sure you'll do well. One more request- any chance we can get MFi controller support? psj3809 Moderator Jan 13, 2011 12,964 717 113 England #20 psj3809, Mar 19, 2015 I've also unlocked it for £1.49 - bargain (gets rid of the odd ad etc and helps the dev) Some of the screens, eg the stage maps etc are a bit small on an iphone 6 but i know its a pain getting it right on all devices with all the different sizes. Not a show stopper or that just the text etc is a bit small. Not for me really but i never do any of this facebook mularky with games to annoy all my friends. But it doesnt detract from anything i can see The graphics are great though, again love the small filesize, seems to be a lot of content. Glad i unlocked it (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
