Ahh ok, so this is within game center, I could add that, I was more thinking about adding people just for this game, within this game, i can do it with the touch of a button on the world leaderboards and/or find people by name. Of course the other option is to add via the app as you mention Thanks for the info, once again a great help!
Could you add a way for us to look up in the Global leader boards (in the game) any player and then ADD them to our friends list (in the game)? Or does the process have to include the extra step in Game Center?
After my earlier comment I ramped up the graphics to max and was amazed to find it still playable Definitely not 60fps, but only slightly choppy (iPhone 5)
Found a bug with the cockpit view mirrors - on pikes peak in the last bit the sky goes black. I only noticed it for the last 2 miles, but it may have appeared before that
Thats what I meant earlier, I could do it all in game, you won't get their profile picture though, and they won't know you added them, but you can easily pull people onto your local leader boards. If you go through game center then they have to accept etc etc. Food for thought!
Yeah it happens to the main screen sometimes too when gfx are high , ill take a peak, it's probably precision errors due to the large scale map.
No where in the game will you find any actual car names but you can see a lot of similarities to real-world vehicles: WRX, Lancer, Focus, Cooper, GT-R 34, Clio, Delta and a few others...
So, I've been quiet for a long time this is because I've been hard at work on the next feature. ... drum roll.... I can reveal that the next update will contain full real-time multiplayer, you can play Cross-platform on a LAN between iOS and Android devices OR you can play using Gamecenter over the Internet (with voice chat support too). I was keeping quiet because writing low level network code is actually fairly new to me, but it turns out that it's no more tricky than writing a multithreaded game engine either! So it will be coming soon when I've tested it ALOT. To start with it will be simple racing (I've actually allowed A-B stages with > 1 player too for this), but long term I could add more leaderboards and rankings to keep players involved Time to get practising because things just got real Ste
OK last night I submitted to the app store so a Beta build will be with you guys in the coming days, I need you all to give this a big stress test Multiplayer is just awesome! Ste.
Sorry for being so quiet recently, I've been absolutely chocka with other clients since I returned from holiday and I just wanted to get my head down and get multiplayer working! I'm planning on making it ALOT more customisable for the next iteration of game too, so changing weather, time of day, different events etc etc all through multiplayer too.
Some native resolution would be nice too for those who have or will have a latest generation device! Keep up the good work!
Great news, simple racing suit me cos I got simple mind. Ongoing support and improvements appreciated.
I'm basically riding the Rush Rally 2 wave until it starts to break before pushing on with the next venture. Everything that gets added to this will come in handy for the next game anyway. I'm hoping the next one I can focus more on the whole game flow and experience rather than just the technology behind it.
The build is ready to send out but it does have a few little known issues which have already been fixed (pending another Beta review!) I'm in two minds as to wait for that one before sending this one out. Either way the update date of release has been set in stone anyway so it really won't be long Hopefully they'll pass the new build with fixes VERY soon
