I can still remember the thrill I used to get playing Colin MacRae 2. That feeling of *just* being on the edge of losing control at all times and pushing, pushing to cut milliseconds off my times. The Indonesian tracks still haunt me for sheer speed and insanity trying to second guess through the forests. This is, quite simply, the only time since then that I've had the same feeling from a rally game. Although I don't get as much time to play as I used to I'm enjoying every single second of this, frankly, astonishing game. My utmost thanks for giving me something I never thought I'd feel again in a racing game. Namely that incredible solitary feeling of racing against time and unseen opponents. An utterly brilliant game.
I do like the cockpit view, looks very nice I was going to report a bug that the mirrors always start smashed, and then realised I'm on the minimum graphics settings (hence, no reflections) Could we have a HUD opacity setting to increase immersion? Also the cockpit speedo is tricky to see in grey, although I get that you don't want to conflict with the gear indicator. And what kind of crazy person tries to use only the cockpit controls, relying only on the co-drivers voice? (*guiltily raises hand*) To that end, a stopwatch on the dashboard would be neat, although I suppose it might make it too cluttered. Thanks for a cool game
All Good feedback, I was going to add more to the cockpit and remove the hud (option for it) but rather out of time. It will really add to the immersion! As for the Co driver, I've had so many comments that I think I need to get the new samples in for the next update! I need to get it planned out as this update seems to have set the ball rolling again for people downloading it! Thanks!
@remote, you have summed up what I wanted to achieve. I used to have those same feelings playing games as a kid, and never have I had them until I made this! Competing with my brothers ghost in RR2 brought back all those childhood memories!
Great update, too many good games, too little time. It's stuff like this that has tanked my Hearthstone (I confess I am addicted) ranking this month. Meh, it's worth it.
Pike's Peak Finale Racing at Pike's Peak at the end of the game is fantastic! This is the Green Hell that I always wanted Real Racing 3 to have... a nice, long race. I earned gold on my first attempt but missed beating gps01 by 5 seconds so I will have to have another go at it. Great job Brownmonster!
thanks a lot BM for all the hardwork you did on this game. wish you tons of RR2 sales hopefully it will get you paid for what you deserve. btw, the cockpit view is awesome, even though i always like the third person view more.
I wonder what I can do to encourage this a bit more, I could potentially allow people to add "rush rally" friends within the game to pull certain peoples times on to the "friend" leaderboard.
I bumped the graphics settings on my iPhone 5 up a teensy bit to let me have basic mirrors and shadows. If there's a frame rate drop I can't notice it - and rally cross blew me away Thanks for the outstanding job you've done with optimising both the performance and file size - it's really appreciated for those of us with older phones and no plans to upgrade till it dies!
No problems, glad you like it If only I had every device to test it on, I was blown away when I saw my brother playing it on his top notch iPad with graphics set to the max!!
How does Real Racing do this, is it simply a button on the leaderboard "Add as local friend", or can you also search by name? I was hoping to add search by name, but currently it relies on it being case sensitive which is going to be a pain to use i think.
On closer inspection I need to brush up my database skills. Looks like it should be fairly straight forward to add a search like this with case insensitivity on. I need to also fix the push notifications as they don't seem to be working (they should be fired when a friend beats your times)
Real Racing 3 has a tab on the left side of the Home screen that you can expand or collapse. This tab lets you see your top 10-12 Game Center friends (ranked by stats). At the bottom is a "+" to add more friends. Pushing this add button takes you to the add friends screen within the Game Center app. You do have to enter the name of your desired friend EXACTLY as they spell it (case-sensitive) and there is unfortunately no pop-up list if you are close, like what we have with the Touch Arcade PM system.
