Well I guess people see large files and think "this must be good" and they forget that nowadays procedural geometry can be generated!
It still happens with me. Just took the iPod off charge, opened touch arcade and read this forum. Thought I would test again. Started at 99% battery, did Germany stage 1 time trial, battery now shows 90%.. It will probably slow down now to only 2 - 3% for another few stages. I am using app box pro to check battery percentage. It could be the app is inaccurate, in my settings it shows RR2 has had 37min screen time for only 4% usage...
Pocket Gamer has an article regarding car tuning tips, not much and may not be very helpful. Here it is: http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/iPhone/Rush+Rally+2/feature.asp?c=70207
I understand your concern. It is the case in game development all the time, whether it be mobile, console, or PC, and from both AAA and indie. Licensing has a lot of hurdles. Anyway, I'll be the one to give the representation information: C class car: Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evo D class car: new generation Mini Cooper S B class car: Ford Escort Mark II (got it fully loaded in my DiRT Rally preorder) A class car: MG Metro 6R4 S class cars: 2010-15 Subaru WRX Hatchback Ford Focus (either RS or WRC) Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X R-34 Nissan Skyline GT-R (in that order)
I've just noticed, it only does it on the 3rd person chase cameras (and it wont do it at all on AppleTV)
I'll see what I can do with bonnet cam, if I tilt it too much it may clip out of view. Its on the list
OK so it's been out for a week now and I've pretty much tidied up all the bugs and quick tweaks that were found and requested, there is a build now awaiting review which fixes a cloud issue causing times to be posted on the wrong tracks! I've also rebalanced it again too! Because of this nasty bug (on the next update any tracks that did affect you will be cleared an you will have to do them again, you will be notified if this happens though, and looking at the database it will be like 0.001% of people) Here is my current list of stuff which I haven't yet managed to do and some are of course planned as big updates! Now is your chance to request more features/tracks/game modes which I can get in for the next update. I want this list to grow, and I want to aim for a big update every 6 weeks to try and keep the game high up in the charts. It's doing really well, but I don't want it to stop just because it has had its week "featured" by apple! - hardcore championship mode (no retries) - Damage on the car, smashed windows and falling off doors - Championship mode split timers (in race splits) - Multiplayer / Local / global - Cockpit View - Replays / View and ghost mode as replay - Posible steering wheel with the thumb instead of just buttons - Lens flare on/off options - Horizon tilt on bonnet camera Thanks for your continued support people! A great launch week!
Exellent.Looking foward to it.Especially the rebalancing,as after the update i think the first two rallys are far too easy.I know it's a very difficult to get the balance right for most players. Hope this doesn't come across rude, because i love this game.....A lot.
Cockpit would be a nice bonus! I personally feel bonnet is pretty great though for a smaller device, like an iPhone. I would say the thought of multiplayer is pretty awesome. I'd love to be able to race a friend (or two or three?) local and maybe even wi-fi / over the Internet!! Is the latter something you feel may be possible BM?
I was always going to aim for the latter (I've looked at a few options and all are doable, basically I could do it entirely in google play (which would allow multiplayer completely cross platform, OR I could do it in game center, limiting it to game center people only). This I haven't decided yet, but I really want it to be playable by all regardless of what device.
Actually, I do have one more request: more dust! If I recall correctly the first Rally Rush had much more dust particles. 2 looks somewhat too "clean" for a rally game.
I had to tone them down because as good as these devices are, they still cannot cope with much alpha blending! Apple TV suffered horrifically so I had to drop it all down RR1 could cope because they did not cover much of the screen. Maybe I can have a % of particles on the slider and increase them for the iPhone 6s....
