I think the subtlety of the controls might trip some people up. As I've said before I went in expecting an Arcade experience but it's deeper than that. There is something sublime about a rally game that nails the physics and inertia of a car. Hitting that handbrake at just the right time to negotiate a tricky stretch is a great feeling of 'flow'. I really like the Mini Cooperalike too, it really does get better with the higher classes. I can hit a full rally for the full experience or just have fun in one of the varied other modes. For the price of a coffee? Sign me up! I like the other racers you mentioned too but for different reasons. Horizon Chase is another flow experience but it's more 'on rails', nothing wrong with that but sometimes a bit of drift and grit is what is required for me. I hope it clicks for you but sometimes a game isn't for everyone.
Thanks for the feedback! Makes total sense.. I wanted to support the developer too, thats why i kind of just bought it on impusle with out looking beyond intro game trailer.. Ill keep messing around with it some more, maybe it will grow on me.. If not, at least i know the money went to a good developer.
Shakin' hood is missing. # I can feel a short delay from the the beginning of a steering button press till the car begins to move the wheels to the left/right. Is it possible to minimize this delay further?
Fired up McRae for iOS again, wondering how come I deleted that pretty much immediately after purchasing last time, seeing I'm having a ball with Rush. It's even worse than what I remembered, probably because of playing this game -which hands down feels superior-. The cars in McRae feel like you are "driving" a ping pong ball. Maybe it is okay(?) if you have a controller, but with Rush I definitely feel I'm driving a heavy machine, yet it's easier to control, even just with touch. Good stuff.
Glad it's just not me then.In my case, the next 3 or four track times were effected. Glad to see the dodgy times will be removed,i have zero issue with this at all......I felt like a cheat It will also mean i can actually play the mini games, because the glitch meant my times were impossible to beat & all the fun was taken away.
I'm glad someone else has the exact opinion as me, I used to love CMR on PC back in the day but it really does feel old and faked now, in one respect I wish it never came out on mobile as it has ruined my really fond memories of it Because of this I've told myself I will never play the Europress Rally Championship game ever again for that reason, it may be 20 years old, it was probably rubbish, but I only remember really good things about this game! (Including trading times on Rother Valley with my brother endlessly!) So glad Rush Rally 2 has become the new benchmark!
Yeah, I still need to find the real reason this happened, but for now at least it will be covered up and shouldnt affect you playing it!
Out of interest. When it's fixed (and my times removed),will i need to delete the app and do a fresh install? I don't mind doing this at all.Not sure if the times are stored locally as well, that's why i'm asking.
Just wanted to chime in, I've been playing on iPhone 6s+ and iPad air 2 ios 9.0.2 and thus far haven't experienced any glitches or hang cps. For whatever that may be worth. Probably my fav ios game of all time, BM. I am a racer at heart.
Remember you had some good input too, this is a game made by gamers! I've still got the manual gearbox notes written down don't you worry Pocket gamer seem to have liked it too, managed to bag a review Gold award (9/10) along side Real Racing 3, eagerly awaiting a Toucharcade review
Congrats on the GOLD award @PG! They are usually a bit tougher on the reviews than TA so this could be a good omen It certainly is deserving of 5 stars. Really stoked for you BrownMonster!
All the best BM, was an honor and pleasure to have gotten to help from the very beginning. This game is really something special.
A bit slower than expected but the build for iOS with the leaderboard fixes is done, I've also rebalance the times a little bit that the AI set and done a few other tweaks!
