What do you know, it doesn't look to hard at all... but I'm still sitting on the fence with this one!
I thought about requesting Pikes Peak a few months ago but didn't want to be THAT guy who only requests "more cars....more maps". But man, would PP be a blast to drive since in all actuality, most of us will never get that opportunity to do so and experience the difficulty of the course. Loving the mini games...Can't thank you enough for the hard work and constant corespondence with the group!
Pretty sure just about every post of mine starts with "this just keeps looking better and better ", but the fact is it does!! Pikes peak please# that would be unreal! Cannot wait to purchase this, I hope it does really well so you can implement a heap of content for it, and really get stuck in to your next rush project. ( Is it going to be road/circuit racing, rather than rally?, you intrigued me with your comment about liking open wheelers # As always, fantastic stuff!
OK so tonights work consisted of the following: Customisable runoffs in the generator (so I can add gravel run off areas on corners that are sharp) Rumble strips finished off Track "borders" that will allow me to fence the whole thing off with wire fences and advertising board (still need to finish off the rendering for these) Anyway its all WIP and has been a nights work but you can see where this is going I'm sure
TBH the max length track i've tried is 5miles so far, Pikes is 12.5Miles I believe, I wonder how the game would hold up!
Given how many physics objects are created, and that everything is created and generated on the loading screen in one go, it may use ALOT of memory, but I'd have to test the metrics for it at some point! That's the only issue really.
Quite a stupendous effort BM! Am loving the gravel run offs. And on a side note, is there any chance that an F1 game be possible with your polished assets?
Have you been reading my business development plans... (It will of course not be associated officially with any F1 product or license as that's owned by Codemasters still and is a little out of my price range to pay for!)
Hey BM....Just a thought but how about PP being split up into 3-4 sections? You have my $$$ with any additional tracks being added later. Loving everything you are doing with this thing!!! Great work buddy!
Starting to feel a little more circuit like now when blasting around, just some mega jumps to stick in rally cross, then populate with grandstands, starting line and other stuff!
