The skill games are Awesome, gates and roadworks are my favorites! Followed closely by trailer.. Really like air strike, but to be honest I could take or leave the turbo one. This game is so good! Anyone who loves racing/rally games should have this on their instabuy list, and grab as soon as it hits the App Store!
Thats very kind of you TBH I was really thinking of dropping trailer mode! Turbo will be better once I sort it out a bit more too. Rally Cross is proving to be just as fun, my only concern is how many cars we can get away with on these devices...
For rally cross, any chance of an option for more cars on newest devices and less on older hardware. Please keep turbo!
Funny but rlly not do funny that you're having the button stick issue. I experienced it quite a bit in RR1 but fortunately not in this one. Thank god bc it's frustrating as hell. Hope BM can shake it out. When I incurred it in the first game it was completely random.
I think thats what will happen, I've done all the tracks, just need to make them look more "circuit like". Turbo will be staying yes, basically each cup will have 1 of each type to keep it mixed!
It seems random but I can't help but think it has something to do with touching multiple points of the screen while resetting. I'm probably way off on that but it's the only thing I can think of. Hey BM, could you add a button transparency slider or a toggle on/ off? It's definitely not necessary, but it's another one of those options that are always nice to have. I think I'm at the point where my preferred playing method will be with touch controls and it'd be nice to be able to clean up the screen a bit.
Got myself an Apple TV yesterday so I can give it a blast on the big screen too. The problem is I've all this stuff to do and only 2 hands! It will be worth it though!
Hehe yes I like to hear that! I was messing about with the "custom spline" tool I added to the generator this weekend, and managed to get some really cool hill climbs in, which I will be dropping into Sweden and Argentina I think. Here a spline I traced from "Alpe d'huez" from Google maps, and then generated a few different track types from it! Rally cross will have proper run-offs and circuit features, and from there you can probably see where I'm going with the next Rush game installment, especially as I want to support 20 cars... All I actually store is the spline, the track is generated when you hit race every time, hence the small 80Mb file size for all the cars and tracks.
Thanks, I have a massive array of "official" tracks splines already, I just need to make them look a bit more circuit like (run-off, grandstands etc etc), but yeah I guess once this game is done its possibly the nextstep (and different types of cars too, like single seaters).
Those look incredibly fun to drive, especially in the snow. I was curious to how the game is only 80Mb, pretty cool way to keep the size down. Will there be Joker laps in the Rallycross? Sounds like you're planning a multiplayer rallycross game next? That would be sick. Whatever you decide to make next, I am very interested.
At the minute no Joker laps, however it will be thought about in the future as I need to support pit lanes too (basically multiple routes on a track!). Procedural is the only way though when you have no artists, really there is no massive amount of work in the art for this game, its just a few textures I've banged together! then the mesh is created and textures slapped on to make it look good. Multiplayer, again after release its pencilled in, but it really needs to start making money before I can focus on stuff like that as its time consuming to get right!
Oh I meant that it sounded like you were hinting at MP for the next game. I've heard how hard it is to add multi to an already existing game, so I'm not to focused on if/ when it comes.
