Once you download someone's tuning setup,, does the game then save that as the car's setup until you change it?
So motion blur now in for top end devices too it looks really good when playing it, I've also halved the updated rate of the real time cube maps which should let your device run a little cooler for those who reported it getting hot (its not noticeable that I've halved this anyway!), other than making it smoother).
It'll only really be available for use on the iPhone6 and 6s (and the plus ones). IT seems to run good on my iPod Touch 6 too.
I've just been having a mess around with the post process shader too, hopefully i'll be able to do some good colour tinting too to make each one feel a bit different (screenshots are extreme examples of sepia and similar tones!)
Good evening, I've finally spent some time tidying up all the championship and time trial huds and front end stuff to make it all more clearer. I've also swapped Sweden and Argentina around too. I'm going to give it all a good play and balance the times up a bit more before letting you guys have a new build. I've had quite a few new Beta testers this week too so looking forward to the feedback on here form the newbies! I'll let you know when a build has been subbed to apple for review. Not long now (the rally cross and skill games are just "throw up" mode really so shouldn't take too long at all!) Ste
Motion blur looks great! Will we be able to toggle it on/ off, though? Good call on swapping Sweden and Argentina around as well. Can't wait for Rally Cross! Edit: Cars look really really good in the latest build
Yeah it will be toggleable as it's not everyone's cup of tea! Should be a new build in your hands, went through really quickly tonight! Still need to work on tweaking the blur though but on the whole it works OK.
Ok, so I had a good play with the game on my 6th gen 16GB iPod Touch, it runs VERY smooth, I love how you can adjust the button size, the little rev counter at the top corner is sweet haha. So far I've had no issues, apart from crashing the car, I also like how you can adjust the spoiler angles and transmission settings. It did take me a bit to work out the sliders for the damage repair and the repair time, may want a little pop up to explain that? Also it makes my iPod run pretty warm, and as such the battery doesn't last long, when I close the game the iPod's temperature soon goes back to normal but I can feel the heat trough my silicon case, I took it out of the case and it seemed to still run pretty warm, it's not hot though. I am yet to play the game in full on my iPhone 6S but I have installed it and opened it on there, played a couple of races.
Nice, I will probably always leave the blur on but it's always great to have the option. Playing the new build now and the cars look amazing!
A couple of people have mentioned about the sliders so it needs to have a popup for sure. Also most people don't know you can scroll the windows too (to find more tuning options) so i'll have to do something about that too. As for the heat, its actually really annoying because I'm not doing anything other than using the hardware to its potential. The game uses at least 2 of the cores (so perhaps it getting the cpu a little over tired in this case), and then of course the GPU rendering isnt cheap either. In the case of Rush Rally 2, everything this dynamically generated so it takes a bit more stuff to render it all. With no generated games, there is usually an offline process on the artwork to batch it all up to make it as efficient as possible but I can't really get away with that due to the procedural nature of it all. That said performance doesnt seem to suffer, and if you don't want it to heat up, usually turn off the high reflections (set to low) and its fine. Cheers!
Send an email to [email protected] with the email you would pick up on your I device. I'll probably close the beta soon as we have a lot of people testing it now and its near completion, but a few more people won't hurt in the grand scheme of things!
Yeah upping the resolution of the textures made a huge difference, I can't believe I halved the texture size now! As for the latest build, how is it playing with max settings on the 6 and 6s?
