Mission accomplished There should be some kind of reward after you've played through all rallies.A bigger cup? I really dislike australia stage 4 (dark, rain) by the way. It's often VERY hard to spot the track because of quite similar colours in the night. And can you expalin how exactly the checlpoint system works?I assume most often i don't get the times because i'm the current rally leader but i restarted a rally with another car and then i always got checkpoint times (although i won the first 2 stages) up to the point where i quit the rally before.Or am i racing against my own,old times? But that would be wrong...
Great! I'll see what I can do with a "bigger" trophy! As for checkpoints you are right, it's your own ghost times! Need to change that in championship mode!
Have you adjusted the handbrake? It seems much more linear and controllable now. It feels smooth in its transition, loving it, particularly in Sweden! Also like the aeroplane sfx when traveling the globe, nice touch. I did have a couple of game crashes when I first played this build, but I reset my device and so far nothing. I know you haven't mixed sound properly yet, but I feel the cheering at the start of stages is a bit too loud, but it's really not a big deal just an observation.
i also had the feeling the handbrake is better to control and i used it more often now.In sweden its even absolutely necessary if you want to control the track (and not the other way arround ) Although i first thought i just got used to it better but i'm doing a lot of risky handbrake maneuvers now that i wouldn't have done before.
I've done a few tweaks here and there for sure on all the cars I'll sort out Australia 4 for you too it is VERY hard to see the track. Also in terms of the track difficulty/progression (other than Spain) does it feel like it gets trickier, but still fun all the way through?
Don't worry about the crash log, I have the crash here sent to me. Its to do with setting uploaded time flags for the championship data.
Good job you mentioned the cars -> the subaru is unlocked before the metro and escort which are slower cars
agreed with crabman, now i almost never used the brake since the handbrake is more precise to use on every turn. i only use the brake on a straight and long track when the speed is increase and the car started to feel like hard to control. the handling is prefect now imo, but the track design needs to be more realistic, unless, you have that plan saved for rush rally 3 ps. the latest build is amazing. i dunno how you still call this a beta since its plays better than every single rally game on the appstore / playstore. butter smooth on my 6s plus with maximum resolution(finland track, i havent had enough chance to play further since you always reset my progress ).
Thanks, great feedback as usual. It has been worth the extra effort and time to make it the best that's for sure, I just hope I get the price right and sell enough to live on. But these days you need a feature at a minimum to make massive money . Its been fun making it though, and there will be more for sure
I'll definitely be deleting the beta when this comes out for real, and purchasing for sure! Got the new build, kph works now. Noticed on stage 4 Argentina some of the distant hills just after the start seem to be missing parts.. Otherwise looking and handling fantastic!
Loving the damage model, clipped a tree (when I say clipped I mean slammed) with the left rear of the Focus, finished the rally with the wheel hanging off and the car pulling to the left #
please consider my suggestion with rewind feature, where player gets 10 rewind chance on each stage then if they need more they can buy it from IAP OR if they didnt willing to pay they can wait for it to refresh automatically 1 rewind every hour. i think this is the best way you can get more money without hurting any gamers(except for the a**h*le one ), also with decals (to someone who really care about their cars appearance). but please do not sell parts and upgrades as IAP or even the worst part, iap to instantly fixing your car(yea im looking at you real racing 3) .
As it stands I'm going for a premium model! I may introduce IAP for extra content but I will not be adding IAP just to progress quicker through the game, as someone who cares about games I want to make a good fun game and not a money grabbing cash fest. Maybe i'll add IAP for extra content later on. I'm toying with replays at the moment, I guess rewind would come from that,. the problem though really is the position of the physics objects, although I could make it so they don't reset and you simple only rewind the car...
i appreciate your willing to go premium route and i truly support that, but as we all know, appstore is not a friendly place for a premium games. thats why i suggest you to put just the additional iap that completely doesnt affect how the games play. laracroft go is a premium puzzle game and they(square enix) put hints as their iap and truly doesnt affect the gameplay where its player decision wether to use hint or not, or...just found them on youtube . i just want this great game get enough attention it deserve and your amazing hardwork gets paid, thats all. anyway thats your call. ps. yes, yes keep that hard work at rewind ps2. i dont know for sure, but i just get the feeling that the rewind iap will sells well
Thanks! I agree I just don't want to annoy those people who have paid for it thinking they still have to pay for finish it! Its a hard one to get right!
There is a real catch 22 with the App Store. It's a false economy, because almost everything was 99c when it first started, it set a very low price expectation, so when devs attempted to charge more, people got upset. So then the free stuff started filtering through to try before you buy, and this gradually got watered down to free and pay to play... Some do it way more aggressively than others but it has skewed the marketplace to where the expectation is that everything should be free. If a game has the quality of this one then it SHOULD make a fortune as a premium title, but a lot of folks won't be prepared to pay up front for the opportunity. We've hit a point where people will whine over a free game with iap's But don't want to pay for premium at the same time. ( these are my general thoughts and not directed at any one person btw) Personally I would rather a premium title, with content packs (new cars and rallies) released at a price in the future to help support the dev. Cheers
I would agree with replays at this point, there's been countless times when I've been flying through a stage (after practicing excessively) and ballsed up on the last few corners. Even if you can go back to the last checkpoint I would be in favour, middle of the road, as fast as possible, gotta make the physics easier.
I can't see why i cant do the reset to last checkpoint at a minimum. TBH this is another feature that would really make it a AAA game too. I guess its all a matter of time though to get it in. Finish the game first, then add more features! (I've still got stuff like making cars dirty and damage visually to add, but these can come after launch maybe!!)
He says struggling with Argentina, then winning by 30+ seconds in Spain. I've come to the conclusion that I can do tarmac stuff, but am not so good on loose surfaces.
Spain is setup as the first rally in terms of difficulty! Don't pay too much attention to that! Once I have done a pass on all the trees I'll finish of the balancing and the tracks will be "final" and not change in terms of layout Then I'll add some extra visuals, buildings and stuff, and then finish off the rally cross and skill modes!
