Just playing through Argentina now... I think the progression of the game is pretty good at present, I'm finding though that to win on the later rallies, I'm going back to the earlier cars to be competitive. Sweden in the Subaru I copped a flogging and was very slow, changed to the Lancia and won the rally by about 30 seconds. Currently I'm in the Focus an Argentina and losing stages by about 5 - 10 seconds a stage..my guess is that stage times may still need a bit of sorting, that and I need to just go quicker probably. There is definitely a feeling of everything happening quicker in the later cars though, which is a good thing.
Also... this definitely needs replays, especially to watch back my two end over end rollovers in Australia, stage 1 ###
OK so that reminds me.... the times on argentina, australia and germany are not ones to go by (that is I have not set the AI times yet!), On the list...
On the wish list, the main problems with the replays will be the physics objects will not behave exactly like they did in the original instance (the car will be the same of course). The reason being that some stages have like 10000 physics objects and I would need to write a cunning system that didn't eat up memory if it recorded these too, I've done this in the past but its more another question of time!
I'm loving the latest build so far! I really like that disabling corner icons moves the map top and center, I find that my preferred method. I have a friend who's also in the beta,, and I was wondering is there a way to see his high scores before the start of each race? Perhaps it works but my friend just hadn't signed into Facebook. Or would gamecenter show friends leaderboards without needing Facebook login?
As long as you are both signed into the same network it will be fine. So both on game center, both on Facebook, or both on both! You can also download their ghosts in time trial. There is a bug that championship mode will not show any friends times yet, so try time trial instead! Thanks.
Man, Australia is way more technical than the others.. Stage 4 for me is a killer, I'm finding it really hard to follow the track( I have the racing line off), being that bit darker I think I lose my way in all the switchbacks.. Gonna need some practice on these ones... It looks fantastic though.. Love the gum trees
Is Australia winnable at the moment? I just completed it in the mini, after being completely flogged in the Focus, and I was over 2 minutes down, in 20th position. Just started in The Lancia, and after a pretty clean run was about 35 seconds off the pace in stage 3. At this rate I won't unlock Germany #
Ok, sorry this is just as an FYI. I just had a near faultless run( off track for .007 seconds on stage 5, still crossed the line 31 sec slower than the fastest. I clocked 2.40 for the stage... No way I can shave that time off to win...I have a screen but the app won't let me upload it
Nice work, as I haven balanced the times then I guess not, I'll get another version in the pipeline for you!
Thanks, not complaining by any means... Just really want to try Germany... And clearly not fast enough
At this point I can only second that, gone from beating everyone in a Lancia by 30+ seconds without trying, to losing by 1+ minute in an Evo X after practicing and tuning. Gonna try the map in the middle as I use that more than corner icons.
Hehe I think I have the multipliers for each car set a bit wrong as well as not setting the target times on Australia and Germany! I'll get a quick build out at some point in the coming days!
The handling seems a lot better compared to the lite version. Now I am actually doing way better and even getting first place. No more crazy spin-outs. And indeed... no more OCD with the visual settings. With you latest benchmark run it now sets the iPad Air 2 a bit lower on the resolution scale. Probably due to the added weather effects this time around. It still plays quite fluid at a 100% but I will play around with lower settings to see if it plays even better.
Great stuff thanks. Yeah the GFX detect now uses a rainy stage and headlights to catch the worst case scenario. Another build coming with updated difficulty, so its not "too" easy to start and not "too" hard with unlocked cars, fixed some track issues with holes in the track and also some other bugs here and there.
You fixed holes in the track?Man,it's a rally game. There MUST be holes Shame,i had not much time to play this weekend but finally i'll play it longer this evening.Well,hopefully.Depends on my girlfriend as well
Woah Germany is tricky, big challenge there. My only initial thoughts are in terms of environment. Maybe some more rock walls next to the road, and a winery somewhere. That's one thing I always remember from Germany, cars running off the road into someone's vineyard #. Or maybe I just need a glass after my first run through #
