Alright, here I am again... Or something.

In any case, phone gets really warm when playing this and the battery depletes really quickly.

Also, I'm still not beating the lap times, although I do beat sometimes beat the other "human" players. Are they, in fact, real people?

On a more positive note, the game is quite a good time, with a smooth frame rate and crisp graphics.

I'm not into tuning, so it's important that the stock setups work for me. And they do.

Someone mentioned the tuning times- I think they're fine, honestly. But I drive like a granny.

Definitely gonna be supporting this one.

Great stuff thanks! This "phone gets really warm when playing this and the battery depletes really quickly." is a pain, but if you turn off realtime reflections you'll find that it will use about 25% less power and won't get as hot, reducing shadowing will also help.

The truth is this, I'm using pretty much all the cores of the processor and GPU to achieve the nice graphical effects (have you seen other games with real time reflections and shadows like this?). All I can report my end is that my iPod 6 doesn't get hot and neither does my friends iPhone 6. My Samsung S6 on the other hand, with reflections on, runs at 60hz for about 4 minutes and then scales right down and gets hot, which again is the hardware stopping itself from over heating.

The other option I have is to scale down the graphics some more but that would really be upsetting :(

I'm going to fire an email to Apple about this too I think, but ultimately this highlights how far the processors can be pushed tucked away in these small devices!

(I've had slow downs with Asphalt 8 too, RealRacing3 doesn't really push the graphics it looks "slick" but actually it doesn't draw much, I don't see 100's of trees being drawn for instance!!)

BTW if you are logged into facebook or game center then yes you can see real peoples times, you have to be in time trial and then goto world rankings. I'll see if I can get world rankings for championships too...

Ohhhh you drag the sliders to the left to repair damage! I was assuming it was on auto-fix when that window came up! There may be adequate repair time then. :)

    Hey, a quick update.

I'm still pushing on, I spent the last week not doing a great deal however I did fix quite a few bugs that have been bothering me for some time now! I've also done the Argentina tracks (the track layout and terrains are done, I still need to spend some time on the art side). Im adding Austalia now, and then once I've finished all the rallies (in terms of getting track layouts done) I'm going to sort out the game flow.

Then I'll spend time to put buildings in and better more varied art per track.

Sorry I've been quiet for a week, I'll try and get back up to speed this week, I've been too busy with work and we have just decided to also give our living room a big make over :)

Its worth also mentioning that I've added a grass/vegetation system to the engine, which I only have this example of at the minute (the same object used many times like trees), but of course this opens up a lot more possibilities art wise and clusters of grass on the other stages...

Also here are a few more of my favourite shots, I've also made the rain and snow better too (still not 100% convinced with the snow though!)

It plays good on a 6S as well, had to download it again, and played it for half an hour, despite it getting a bit warm, I was enjoying the new better graphics.

Expect a bit more testing over the next week or so, as I've deleted half of my other games during the upgrade, and am trying to prove to myself that having a £600+ phone is a good investment.

Ok so i've finally got my head down and finished off all the tracks in terms of design and layout (there may be a few tweaks here and there, but on the whole its done).

    The Rally list includes:
    Spain
    Finland
    Sweden
    Argentina
    Australia
    Germany

Germany is by far my favourite, you barely get up to 60mph/100kph because it is SO technical, attached is a screen shot of one of the layouts.

    So what's next?

Well now I have the tracks done, I'm going to finish the game flow off. something I've been wanting to do for ages! Then once that is done, I'm going to revisit the art. Currently all the tracks just have a splattering of trees on them and nothing much else. THIS WILL CHANGE, i'm going to add buildings, wind turbines, grass etc etc. The lighting looks and feel though will probably stay the same (maybe i'll tweak Spain as it looks poor compared to the rest now!)

Once that's all done I'll optimise a bit more and I'll throw together the rally cross (this will be really easy to do now the styles are pretty much done)

I know i've said it before, but i'm hoping to get another build out soon, itll have all the tracks and i'd like feedback on them as usual. BUT as for the "look" of them remember that i will be populating the environment with more stuff, so its more how they play that i'm interested in!

I'll let you know when its in for sub again so you'll know when to expect a new build!

    Ste

Woah. Is this the rally game I've been waiting for all this time on iOS?
    This got me excited.
Following this thread and sent an e-mail for beta testing purposes, if still applicable.:)

I've subbed an "interim build" to stop it expiring, hopefully it'll be available before the weekend and before it expires.

There is a new build ready, its not massively different but it extends the 3 day expiration time back to 30 days. I'll try and get a new one with the new tracks soon!

I'm eager to hear your thoughts by the way, your email sounded very excited so I just hope it meets the expectations, and if not we need to change that :)

BTW I think the Swedish tracks will have changed though based on your earlier comments, you may also notice less crazy harsh jumps on corners?
