+1 for less distortion on the copilots voice Did you reduce the trees on all finland tracks again?I had no performance problems so i would prefer them as they were in the last build I noticed it while i compared my old screenshot of finland stage 4. Btw,i said the game would be"laggy"if i pump the reso to max but that's not the case.It's perfectly playable and still more smooth than WRC.I'm just quite addicted to the somewhat 50-60fps when lowering the reso to roughly 65%. For some reason i'm not able to upload more than one pic at once with safari/ipad so this here is the last build...
...and that's the new one. btw,some tyre"squeal"(i know it's not really squeal on other grounds but you know what i mean ) when oversteering on gravel etc would also be a nice addition and would also help to perceive even the slightlest oversteering when using bonnet view. I'll get one by the end of the week and wondering how well (or not) it might run.Looking forward to use it with the phone clip of my controller.As much as i love having my iPad in a stand (to use it with a controller) but it's obviously even more flexible with a phone...toilet session comes to my mind Have the 4s to date but the glass is broken so i did not try RR on it.I also can't imagine it looks/plays that good on a 4s...
yes but i can get the old phone from my boss in mint condition and for a very cheap price.I don't need the"latest"phones anyway,my Air 2 will be still far more important to me for gaming and music creation.
Sorry if i keep entertainig you all i have another suggestion: maybe some kind of daily races/rewards on random stages?To get players to fire up your app every day.Since you don't have any currency (yet?How do you get new cars?Are they unlocked right from the beginning or race rewards?) i don't know what kind of reward it could be though.Maybe new decals (more customizing is always welcome) or a car here and there.Or/and a kind of different leaderboard where only the best player(s)can win something.Just like a real champioship maybe,earning points per race.But vs.real player not AI... well,i realize that it actually sounds a bit like requesting a kind of multiplayer
Rewind would come as part of the replay stuff let's see how far I get by October, I guess it's better to delay release and have a better game than to rush it out. After all I want this to be the best!
Yes, when I release everything will be optimised to make sure of this. Not a bad idea actually. There is one setup saved per track and it is saved with you fastest ghost. You can set the setup to match your ghost from the tuning (I'll probably make this automatic anyway)
Corner icons in the latest build, not yet available, are in the center always, and the map is in on the side. (unless you disable corner icons), they also work better too. I'll work some more on the controller as I go as it is important to be able to fully use it in menus.
I know what you mean about the Co driver, I quite like the rough and ready sound, but it does need a bit more clarity!
I adjusted the tree generation numbers so they were still frequent, buy only close to the track, instead of allowing them to be placed far away from the track sides. There are some skid noises on gravel but the generally get overwhelmed by the engine noises. Ill rebalance these too.
This was on an earlier build stage track 3,its just a setting which I've not added to any tracks on the current build! As for the 5s it runs smooth with real time shadows off and real rime reflections off (still has a reflection on the car, it's just static.)
Thanks for inviting me to the beta I've only just got around to trying this today and on my iPad mini 3 running iOS 8.4 it seems to run very slowly even on the lowest settings. Not sure if this is an issue you are know about? Other than that it looks great
a delay games still has potential to be a great games, but a bad games will always be bad. so i agreed with you on this one. RR2 will be beast and the best in ios rally stage. thanks for considering the rewind part OR you can always give the players 10 rewind chance for each level and if players want to add more rewind, they can watch the ads video. i think this step will not destroy RR2 gameplay wise as a premium game, 10x rewind on every level is enough IMO. ps. can you please add more particles in the atmosphere coz it feels too "clean", since i dont have any performance issue on my 6 plus, i think this can be a great addition for a high end idevices. thanks.
played some rounds on the 5s now and it also plays buttersmooth and still looks great.I used the auto detection (realtime shadows off,bloom off,reflections medium and the rest maximum) Had one crash after i played arround with the settings and then used the auto detection a second time.
I have an ipad mini first gen here, it used to work OK on all low settings, I'm guessing I need to optimise a bit more then again. Don't worry when I get back from holiday I'll give it another pass!
I could always add a replay function which costs a bit of time too so you get a tiny penalty for using it, but not enough that using it once would massivly be detrimental to your final time. Once the stages are finished and the game flow is in, I'll be giving the environments a proper pass (additional buildings, windmills etc etc) what do you mean by environment particles? Smoke from chimneys? Long term I also want grass close up too...)
morning,i'm not for a rewind function (but for replays after the race ) since in your game i never have the feeling i screwed it up because of bad handling/physics/stage layout.It's clearly always my own fault and therefore it would feel like cheating to me.It's in the nature of rally (games) that you can screw up a stage(or rally) but you still have chances to win the rally (or world cup).It can keep things thrilling until you have crossed the last finish line.But of course if i don't want a rewind,i just shouldn't use it and i see it would be something that could attract more (casual)people to the game.More customer,more happy dev,more happy player That said,i'm using the rewind function in WRC often because in this game some parts of tracks are just crazy,if not unfair.On top of it,the physics are unpredictable and you are fighting against the handling as well.That said,i find it more enjoyable on my phone now,with chase view more far away but that's another story...
more or less what you describe above plus something like falling leaves, floating dust particle, etc but only if all that additional effect doesnt cost a significant performance drop.
