I've only played one race so far but I'd like to give some early feedback. One hour per energy is definitely way too long. Also, the sound effects... The screeching sound and the upgrade sound (the one that plays while sparks are flying) in the menu is soooo harsh. Could you possibly tone it down?
I second the request for a IAP to remove the timers. Also, a coin doubler would be nice, but then the other issue lies in the trophy currency and how rare that will (most definitely) become when ranking up later on. As-is, progression seems like it will be darn slow even without the horrible timer for tires. My two cents, hopefully something can be done. Fun game, but the timers and progression rate are stifling what could be a great homage to old school arcade racing. EDIT: An entire day I spent today, trying to get to level 5. The replenish rate is just ridiculous once you hit level 4. It's a forced pay wall, and there's no enticement to invest. I will say this, the game is damn fun when you can actually play. But here's the main issue, playing other games waiting for this one, I'm playing those games.....the pay structure and setup to cash in on a quick buck is going to get a lot of deletes instead of people waiting for tweaks and improvements. Let's face it, most people won't wait around tonay another round, and they're much much less likely to invest money knowing that it doesn't have a permanent, positive effect on the gameplay. I just can't see playing this game unless there's a way to remove the timers. And I'll reiterate that the rate of leveling up is just too grindy (and that's been mentioned by others too,but it needs to be reiterated). Honestly devs, you have something great here dragged down by a horrible F2P pay wall and pay structure. I would've gladly payed $5 up front for this to have no timers and get rid of the crappy trophy currency. It's irking me a little more every time I have to contemplate which is more important: holding on to trophies and ending a run, or burning them and being really really frustrated for the next hour while waiting to have one race......and even lowering the timer count is not going to cut it.
I agree that an hour to wait is way too long and I too would gladly pay to remove this as this is a fun game, just ruined by the face you can't keep playing it without paying all the time. Also has anyone noticed how quickly this seems to drain the battery? One 2 or 3 minute race and 5% has gone, or is this normal for racing games?
Racing games always drain my battery, so I'm used to it. What I don't understand is the point behind the soft launch of this game. They release it in NZ one week prior to releasing worldwide, we post impressions here (and in other forums, I guess...) and the game is released in exactly the same way as it was in the soft launch, with the same timers and things which IMO should have been revised prior to launching. The only thing that (I think) changed were the screenshots of the App Store...
I email them about the in game tire timer and this is the reply that I got "I'm Chad. Game Director & Producer of Game Juice. First of all, Thanks for playing our Rush Horizon. Like your opinion, We will adjust a tire replenishing timer at the next updates. And many of new features will be adding. Please wait for the just a week. And also, If you have a good idea for our game, let us know. We will do the best as we can just for the better game. You can check out more informations and news on our facebook page. http://www.facebook.com/rushhorizon/ Best Regards, Chad"
That's cool that they are still adjusting things. I really hope they balance the economy better though. The amount of coins you earn from achievements will only last so long... And then you will have to rely on money from races which is so small compared to the exorbitant upgrade/car prices.
The game has been updated and... it's still the same, albeit for the waiting timer being 30 minutes per refill instead of 1 hour. I agree with you I'd pay $5 for this game up front if it were premium. I still have hopes, because it could be as enjoyable as Out Run was, but as it is, it's just sitting in my games folder until I need free space for another game. A real pity...
Yeah, at this point, this game is just part of my screen's background....Final Freeway 2 is what I've started playing again. I had hopes for this game. I even sent a really long PM to the devs about ideas to improve the game....fell on deaf ears, along with everyone else's input.
Thanks to all Hello, I'm chad the Game Director of Rush Horizon. Last weekend, 'Rush Horizon' was updated the new version 1.0.4. After we released the 1.0.2, We received a lots of letters and reviews about the balance. We started over to think about everything. And we have rearranged the whole balance of the game. But we think this is not enough to your satisfaction. We will never give up to making a better 'Rush Horizon'. Next update will be more fun. Thanks to all the player at this thread. Thanks to all your supports and kindness.
Add an IAP to remove the timer. The game is grindy enough to have to buy in-game credits if you want to buy all cars. Also, I'd try to balance currency a bit more: it's impossible that I can buy a 12,000 cups car just by playing if after 3-4h gameplay I only have 72 cups...
Dear VirtualBoyFreak Every your opinions are right. We are ready to update the Tire Timer Remover. We hope that we can add that feature on our next update. We just wanted to prepare that feature more carefully. And some of the cars are still too expensive to buying it. We have many plans to add new modes & stages that you can earn more golds & trophies. Like daily mission, weekly championship, special events and etc. As you know we are just 3 people. We are just small indie studio. Although we are working hard, we are still slow. But We will never give up to making a better game. We promise to the fans of 'Rush Horizon'. Thanks again.
Preview of version 1.0.5 Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel Also We will add "Tire Timer Remover". (Finally) We had optimized for playing at iPhone4/4s. and etc. This will be available on the AppStore soon. (Hopefully next week?) Thanks
Really nice game. But since the last update the game crashes everytime I upgrade the car. I play on Ipad air.
Dear Rudi, We're sorry for your inconvenience. We've never heard about that kind of problems before. We will try to figure out reason of you problem as soon as possible. Thanks, GameJuice
