    Hey, TouchArcade-Community,

today, my app/game "Runner's Challenge" was released on the AppStore and I'd like to show it to you.
Runner's Challenge is an app for competitive running. It keeps track of your runs (or walks or sprints, ...) via GPS and shows your pace, spent calories and so on. But the cool thing about it, is the integration of OpenFeint, which you probably know from other games. It gives you access to leaderboards, lets you score achievements and compete with your friends. You can also integrate your FaceBook- or Twitter-Account.
Of course it also has some other cool functions. You can listen to your own iPod-Music while running, it lets you lock the screen, so you don't accidentally touch any buttons and it lets you chose between metric and imperial units via the "Settings"-Menu.

Pictures speak louder than words, so here are some screenshots of Runner's Challenge:

If you'd like to know more about the app, please visit the Website http://www.runners-challenge.com or the AppStore: http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=335002355&mt=8.

Because I read TouchArcade like every day and like it very much, I'll give away 5 Promo-Codes for the TouchArcade-Community. Feel free to use them as you like. If you want to tell me what you did or didn't like in "Runner's Challenge", feel free to do so via this thread or contact at runners-challenge dot com. Praise and ideas for improvement are always welcome. :)

    HX9RT44X4KKK
    NRMPWEYKWNNR

Anyway, I hope you like Runner's Challenge and have fun scoring the achievements (some of them are not easy to achieve!) and ruling the leaderboards.

    Have a nice day,
    Moritz.

Took HX9RT44X4KKK. Will hand the phone over to the wife and see what she thinks. Runs every day and will get a lot of use out of it if it is well done. Will post a review on itunes.

Wow, this is a very interesting idea! Unfortunately, as I have an Ipod Touch and not an iPhone, I'm going to have to let this one pass. But I honestly hope this catches on.

Interesting idea... competitive is great except...
how do you prevent people on bikes/other vehicles from making the high
    scoreboards completely useless?

    Thanks. :)

The app checks the average speed over a certain time and if it is too high, your highscore isn't submitted.

Actually, the app is able to recognize Usain Bolt... kind of. :)

Jokes aside: If you drive real slowly on your bike, you can get your highscore submitted, even if you did not run. There is no reliable way to detect riding on a bike without making the usage of the app uncomfortable for runners. But how desperate can you be, when you ride at such a slow speed on your bike just to trick the highscores in some iPhone-App? ;-)

im glad you guys implemented that, because leaderboards with cheaters, make competing useless.

    hope it does well.

those codes went too quickly, but if you have additional codes, id be willing to review your app, shoot me a PM.
