The Runes function solely as spell cards that utilize and manipulate the power of Units and Terrain. Each match's terrain is generated at random, ensuring that players rarely encounter the same field twice throughout their journeys. With the Rune set in hand, the player's main objective is to manipulate the terrain's power to buff their army (and possibly debuff their opponent's army), ultimately aiming to win the battle. In other words, Rune Seeker can be referred to as a terrain-focused card game. We added depth and value to Rune Seeker by incorporating strategy and tactics into almost every action. This includes not only the layout of the squad at the beginning of the game but also in how you construct your squad, develop your base, and collect Runes. Key Gameplay Elements - Player Base: Construct strategic buildings that offer resources and space for squad building. Resources are essential for upgrading Units, improving success rates, and reducing waiting times and costs. - Rune: In Rune Seeker, Rune sets consist of two randomly generated components, creating up to 10,000 unique Runes. Their value depends on game meta and alignment with player strategies, not rarity or power. - Unit: Essentially, Runes are useless without Units and almost so without suitable ones. Units vary in capacity, influencing the number of Runes you can use. Some Units prioritize capacity over attack strength, and vice versa. Units belong to different races and have unique skills activated passively or by Runes—upgradable and evolving over time, they can become stronger and more impressive. Game Modes - Campaign Mode: A PvE mode that offers players a challenging journey through a series of interconnected stages, battles with enemies, and exploration of different realms in the Rune Seeker world. - Wave Defense: A PvE mode in which players engage in a single battle but must overcome consecutive enemy waves. The goal is to fight and survive as many waves as possible for greater rewards. The system randomly provides Runes for this mode. - Roguelike: A PvE mode where players choose a team of 5 owned and Rune-equipped Units (though only 3 can be brought into each battle). They then enter a map generated entirely at random, ensuring a unique experience every time. The goal is to overcome challenges and battles on the map, striving to go as far as possible. The farther you progress, the greater the rewards at the end of your Roguelike playthrough. - Arena Mode: A PvP mode where players choose a team of 3 owned and Rune-equipped Units to enter the battle with an active player chosen by the system. But it still is a pretty good tactical game. Just wish it had an offline mode for the PVE modes, which is 3 out of the 4 playing modes. anthony78 Well-Known Member Nov 13, 2015 3,126 703 113 #3 anthony78, Oct 1, 2024 So ad supported I’m guessing? mastery51 Well-Known Member Oct 21, 2009 505 253 63 #4 mastery51, Oct 1, 2024 No, no ads or iaps that I can see. Unless they haven’t added them yet. I guessing it’s for leaderboards. It looks like all modes have leaderboards. Even the campaign. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
