Replacement for Crimson Gem Saga?!? My favorite RPG on iOS is Crimson Gem Saga. However, it's no longer playable on iOS 5.0+ so I'm looking for something with the same feel graphically, mechanically, and story-wise. Does this compare to CGS's gameplay and story at all? It looks almost as good as CGS, but the story seems weak as well as the action elements. I'm more of a story/turn-based RPGer. But I haven't seen a good graphic replacement for CGS until... Maybe now. But I doubt this will even come close to the awesome writing and voice acting of CGS. Anyone else play them both and can do a comparison? Thanks!
The biggest difference is the combat. This is not a turn-based JRPG; it plays like Across Age, an Action RPG (means no seperate battle screens). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Action_role-playing_game
Are there drops for weapons and armor and such? Does your appearance change as you equip different things? -Greg
So far no weapon or armor drops as such. You do find Spirit Stones that can be used to upgrade equipment, and you can craft your own weapons and armor from found materials (haven't gotten there yet). Weapons are shown on your character, armor doesn't seem to be. All in all this is more of a story and action driven game than a loot-fest. I'm only a couple hours in, though, and it feels like I've just dipped my toes into the game. One interesting bit: early on you build a house in the wilderness as a base of operations. Seems that, as time goes by, NPC will be setting up near your house, basically building a town around you -- a bit like Bastion, but happening automatically.
I beat him without experiencing any bugs, though it did take me a few tries -- the bosses in this game are no laughing matter...
im stuck there also -.- i can't finish off the boss. no life and still there, running and jumping like a big happy mother rat

Somebody better come up with a god d*** solution. I did'nt pay $12 and waste 3 hours on leveling up my character to 17 only to fight the mother rat with an empty health bar FOR 45 MINUTES. Only to realize Its a waste.
I would email the developer directly. But frankly, I can't imagine how it could be glitched. I beat the same boss (and the next two) without running into a problem -- on an iPhone 4S, to boot. And I didn't grind anywhere as much a you did.
anyone manage to figure out how to cross the Snow Trail to retrieve the stolen stuff by the 3 sisters? A quest outside Petas Village. I manage to cross halfway, which state I am on the right track, however, when I reach the end, is a dead end.
You need to find something else before you get to the big field. Once you do, you'll find some discarded clothes in the snowfield. The boss fight stars when you investigate. Like with all boss fights, make sure that your dragon rage skill is active, that Riel has a powerful spell equipped, and that you've equipped your quick slots with health and mana potions.
yup, i manage to get through that already, now I am along the storyline of Escude got kidnapped by Brigands. And when I got back to Petas Village, trigger this this sub quest of following snow trail of the 3 sisters which I couldn't solve.
Hello, I was playing this game, but im like stucked... im in a mine, in front of a lake, and the girl says something about going above using a "crane handle"... The problem is that i dont know how to use it... i click it, and nothing happens.. i was very entertained playing it, until that. If anybody can help me, i would appreciate it. Bye.
