It doesn't explain anything and I tried to make my own world it didn't turn out so well but it's still cool. Makes you appreciate how much work rpgs take to make. With custom graphics and animations imported a fun game could easily be made with this. I do worry that we will see a ton of RTP fuelled half-arsed attempts before anything genuinely good appears on the scene however. Dailon80 Well-Known Member Nov 10, 2014 3,574 66 48 Program Director/Radio DJ Eos #7 Dailon80, Sep 24, 2016 Right on Yeah that's why I'm taking my sweet time to make something worth playing You're right if you have previous knowledge or if you just study and raadnall about it you can figure it out MitchellDegica New Member Sep 24, 2016 2 0 0 #8 MitchellDegica, Sep 25, 2016 We've put together a quick start guide for RPG Creator. PDF version is here. fabell Well-Known Member Feb 3, 2016 161 0 0 #9 fabell, Sep 26, 2016 RPGmaker.net is a great resource for people looking for tips on how to use the program well, albeit somewhat elitist. Rmrk.net is another great community, albeit even more elitist. Why the elitism? It's nothing bad if you are wondering. RPGs just take a lot of work and generally gamers who have never made an RPG don't have a clue how much work goes into even a simple one. Indie RPGs are incredibly under appreciated and heavily overly criticized by critics. But these creators are passionate, which is why they continue making games even as critics continally lambast them with the phrase "RPGmaker game." Dailon80 Well-Known Member Nov 10, 2014 3,574 66 48 Program Director/Radio DJ Eos #11 Dailon80, Sep 28, 2016 That's what I want to know too I know we can upload them inside the game but surely there is a way to put in on App Store I would hope so cuz it requires tons of time to make a good JRPG I mean tons Dash902 New Member May 11, 2014 3 0 0 #12 Dash902, Sep 29, 2016 There is no feature inside the app that allows you to submit your creation to Apple for App Store approval. RPG maker mv has a feature to export your creation as an iOS app, if you really want to make an RPG with this kind of game making tool. You could create your game using this app and not upload or share it and then export the resources you used and try to recreate it in mpg maker mv but that would double the development time. The best solution would be to use this app as a way to familiarize yourself with the process of making an RPG and using it for your rough ideas and then fixing and editing those ideas in RPG maker mv I suppose. Youjinbo Well-Known Member Dec 8, 2009 45 0 0 Art Director/Illustrator Springfield, MO #13 Youjinbo, Sep 29, 2016 I'm now downloading MV. I really wish there was an export option for this app because I hate to put in serious effort to just hand it out as a freebie. I also enjoy not having to sit in front of my computer for a change and the builder is fun! I think some things could be a little more explanatory but easy enough so far with trial and error. Although the examples were in Japanese they were helpful. Thanks for the feedback! Dailon80 Well-Known Member Nov 10, 2014 3,574 66 48 Program Director/Radio DJ Eos #14 Dailon80, Sep 29, 2016 You hit it on the head with it being trial and error I have been able to drop my own enemy and character creations okay But having trouble with tilesets there are not many that come with it and i did unlock premium Only a few and they get old fast Do you know where I can get more and do I need to hook to PC to get them or can I do it all from my mobile I was able to drop enemy character and backdrop creations all from my mobile Tilesets are my only complaint I don't even see the snow tiles I know they have a snowfield poison and danger but I don't see the tiles for them Saucepolicy Well-Known Member Patreon Silver Feb 18, 2009 501 4 18 Crispy ex-game developer #15 Saucepolicy, Sep 29, 2016 Well, here's the thing...if you want to submit an app to the AppStore, you have to be an Apple Developer. Which means you have to be part of the Apple Developer Program, which means you have to pay a $100 annual fee as well as go through their certificiation process. Doesn't matter what's used to build it- if it's a separate app, Apple gets their pound of flesh. Youjinbo Well-Known Member Dec 8, 2009 45 0 0 Art Director/Illustrator Springfield, MO #16 Youjinbo, Sep 30, 2016 Yep, that's not a problem. I just like using the builder on my iPad. I have a few apps out on the store already. Youjinbo Well-Known Member Dec 8, 2009 45 0 0 Art Director/Illustrator Springfield, MO #17 Youjinbo, Sep 30, 2016 There are resources online. Check RPGmaker's website. I plan on making my own tilesets and importing. I haven't had a chance to see how well they import though. For now I'm just building the rpg and replacing tiles later when I can. I'll probably just use this app for a hobby and get the full Mac version to build for iOS/android.
