Great game! I really have a blast with this game. definitely one of the best in the genre that i have played on IOS! The dialogues are really funny and the battle system is great. if you don't have this game already, don't hesitate and buy it. You can thank me later
No idea. I have only played on expert difficulty so far and haven't switched at all. Just polished off the 3rd boss (wiped about 5 times and really enjoying the difficulty). On expert I will definitely say that buffs/debuffs are extremely important on bosses. I also have not found the Treant or any of the monsters NPCs seem to talk about. Do you get to turn in the drop to them for anything? I noticed that there is one side quest in each town after completing the main quest for that town. Anybody find any more? Not very far in to the game yet but I love to rubix! Reminds me of the materia system in FF7 simply for the customization of characters. Played a few Kemco games previously but stopped buying for a long time due to the cookie cutter style. Really enjoying this one!
I have finally run in to a serious issue on the Witch boss (7th I think??? Lost count). Refuse to dip below expert difficulty. May need to grind out a few more lvls with everybody. Her Shrink and magic attacks make the battle a pain. Two monsters in front of her as well... Have wiped rather rapidly 6 times so don't really feel close to being able to drop her yet.
I think that's the boss that made me switch to normal. I couldn't beat her on hard no matter how much I leveled.
She is tough man! Going to have to cast line debuffs (dont have atk/int down line debuff yet and it is the most important) just to soften her up along with one of the wolves. The damage taken in this fight is crazy on expert. I am currently lvl 27 across the board if I remember correctly.
I was level 28-29 on that Boss. Couldn't even pass it on hard after 6 tries or so. I gave up because leveling took way too long. It seems like between bosses you have to level 15-20 times to stand a chance on higher difficulties.
Managed to beat the witch on Expert difficulty. Now I'm grinding for guild coins like crazy by using the airship to hunt sky wyverns outside Gutenberg Castle. IMO, this is one of the easiest and most reliable ways to get guild coins--the town is nearby for healing. Now I'm trying to get enough guild coins to buy arena weapons and armors.
What were your character lvls on the witch and what tactics did you use? Looking forward to grinding out some decent guild coins myself. I assume that you get the airship after the witch?
I was somewhere in the mid 30s, I think. I used the Fighter Boost (sp?) formation (Celine and the main hero at the front), spammed strong offensive spells from the mid to rear ranks, burned through some supplies (mostly magic restoratives), and used the main hero's Heal All ability whenever necessary. I also used a few buffs on the main hero, a few debuffs on the enemy party, and used the Dispel spell (plus a few giant donuts) whenever I was 'gnomed'. Plus I used the main hero's Shining Drive ability (from having a full trust gauge) on the witch after managing to whittle down her HP a bit. You get the airship about one or two bosses after the witch--but I didn't find those battles too hard at all.
Ground my way to lvl 32 or so across my party and finally beat the witch. Burned through a crazy amount of items doing so. But finally dropped her (expert always).
Sky wyverns are great for guild coins. Used them to get one of the weapon upgrades (fan I think?) which remained useful for a long time. I have beaten the main plot line. This gives you the normal ending and unlocks the post game. More plot line, regions/dungeons, quests, etc. I have to update my IAP feedback from earlier. After beating game a new item unlocks in the store that opens a bonus dungeon. So there is content gated by IAP. It costs 200 and I earned only 35 in regular play. So for me it would cost five dollars to enter this dungeon. The rarest drops I've gotten from rocks/barrels have been fossils so far. Still haven't gotten enough to see what those get you.
Yeah, I am currently farming wyverns. Just got my first weapon (took the whip since I get 1.5x damage against flying and I have many more wyverns to farm). Interesting that there is a bonus dungeon for IAP. Maybe there is an in game way to gain entry? As far as rare drops go, I have yet to find a fossil. Hopefully these will begin to show up a bit more regularly when I finish farming wyverns as it seems every town has somebody asking about them.
Any luck on this? I have an island my guide claims is the expert metal region, but I've been hunting there for an hour and I've seen only the basic slimes/cores. Not even the metal serpent that the guide claims should spawn here. Gained a ludicrous number of levels though. 20 plus Next in a metal region is like an xp fountain. On a side note there are no discernible level/hp/mp caps in this game. I have mine well into the 3/5/4 digit territory respectively and still climbing.
Found them. It was indeed that island, they are just very rare. Loading up on First Strike jewels made it less likely that they would flee before I killed them too. On to the S ranks.
Definitely not at that point yet. I just got my boat a little bit ago. Not sure where the island is or when I can get to it.
