Thanks for the help you two. I guess this formation is pretty good. I've only found 2 new formations but the 2nd one wasn't all that great. Early game wise, the best ones for me are Cross Formation and Fighter Boost (one I was asking about). LOL not real games. Psh. Games have a very loose definition and it's even funny how mobile versions have some definitive versions (like Final Fantasy Tactics and arguably MHFU for me). I honestly think console / PC gamers that hate on mobile because it's something they don't like or don't want to like. Basically if they don't like playing on a small handheld then it's not a real game Though to be honest freemium appstore nowadays hasn't helped at all..
Ha! Exactly, can't be bothered to argue with them any further they're really missing out though. There are more formations to be had but these are usually in chests that are hidden in dungeons or in town/houses! I only used Cross Formation and Defense Boost ir something like that?
Well, everybody sais they have a lot of fun with this, so i was contemplating to buy it! and now Shaun saying it's the best of Kemco.. here are my 4 euros Kemco, hope they go to further rpg greatness!
i hope it doesn't have that "ping ping ping" sound like fortuna magus or those previous rpgs i saw on youtube.. Edit: 30 minutes into the game, i am already wowed! -no annoying ping ping sound from earlier kemco rpgs -graphics are FANTASTIC, highly super polished 16bit -nice and tasteful character designs at least for the main heros (boy girl and cat) -humorous storyline with good translation -TAP CONTROLS! yay! there is dpad, but i find it too cumbersome on the touchscreen, tap control works great! -items, jewels, abilities, magic and formation customisation! -battle animations!!! seriously, i am thinking this could be FF quality at a third of the price (and working on ios 8.1)
Glad you like it. I'm still taking my time with it (I'm on hard) but it's very very good. My favorite Kemco game by FAR.
Anyone figure out how to get into the trialsthe island to the west of the maid who has the raging tray?
you need to buy the key from the point shop. i haven't found any other way to find the key itself in game. lots of good stuff inside the trial tower though, so its worth the purchase does anyone know where the expert metal region is? cant find that damn metal behemoth
Damn. You guys. I didn't want to spend money because KemCo backlog. Now look at that, here go my $$$.
I just noticed that there was an amazing review for this one. Great job Shaun! I hope this gets really good sales to push Kemco/Exe Create to make more similar to this one's quality. They gradually add their features into new games so hopefully one day they make a massive giant masterpiece. Though comparing this one to all the other Kemco games, I would consider this game a masterpiece. I'd blow through it faster but I hit a brick wall on hard every time I reach a boss. I have been tempted to swap up and down when I hit bosses. I don't know the reward changes though it does specifically say there are differences when you pick a difficulty. If bosses drop exactly the same items I might as well just swap to normal every time I hit a tough boss :\
I kinda see EXE-Create as a lazy genius writing a slew of B and A papers for a pass/fail course. I don't think they, and more broadly, that Kemco, would be likely to quantify what made this game better than usual and reliably duplicate it.
I gave up trying to beat the fifth boss on hard and switched to normal. Wow the difference is like night and day. I beat the boss in one try. I'd say the boss' attack power is roughly double on hard. Just at the previous restore point I leveled nearly four times per character and it made no noticeable difference..
Oh wow. I'm trying expert- first boss was pretty tough, but the challenge is strangely refreshing. We'll see how long that lasts before I cry all the way to easy lol
Any help on the formation available? I have Zach and the cat on row 1 and Stella and Uriel on Row 2. Why do they even have a row 3? Can you have a magic user there that can hit anywhere in the enemy blocks? Is there value to having people on specific squares within the 3 x 3 grid? I put Stella in the second row as it looks like she gets some defense and she does not lose attack power from her whip. None of the other characters are mentioned as to where in a formation they have strengths or weaknesses unless I overlooked or missed something. I am just past the second town in that cave looking for the stolen kid just for reference. Having a lot of fun with the game and dialog though. Been a long time since I have been interested in a jrpg.
Another question on this one - are people switching the the spell learning gems (light gem, shadow gem) around to different team members to allow them to learn different spells, or just keeping with one character to maximize the spell learning? I have the shadow gem attached to the cat - pretty funny having the light deity becoming a powerful shadow spell caster...
I thought the last row had the best damage reduction? Anyhow to answer your question at that point row placement doesn't matter too much since you will actually unlock party battle formations which are preset designs. They all mostly have positives and negatives but will force you to use a certain formation to get the bonuses. So all you can do is pick what character you want for each spot when you unlock it.
Anyone ever find the Treant in the Brorsen Cave which has that special drop? I found out about the drop by an NPC in a village that mentions it - but I can't find the Treant monster despite wandering the cave for a while. Any remembrance of this or help?
Drop isn't that special so I would move on. As I recall I found them outside the cave. You can check the monster guide for location if you've ever encountered it too. On difficulties, the monster guide reflects changes in difficulty so you can always check there. All I've ever seen is more xp/gold not different drops but I've not checked exhaustively.
