That may be a common occurrence for multi-platform games although there's some iOS stuff that gets ported later too. Also, iOS has a lot of stuff that is never ported due to the developers justifiably not wanting to bother. My point though isn't to bash GP, but merely that the scenario there lends itself toward better ways to entice the players. One of which is the 2-hour trial and another is the developer choice to offer games free but with an in-game full unlock, which simultaneously allows a trial period and undermines piracy. EXE-Create's Unlucky Hero works like that, for example.
This game looks with nothing new to offer, difference from last Crystareino rpg release on ios, that offered some fresh things on the rpg aspect, someone that played it, can tell me if I'm wrong?
No problem! I'm not defending GP Store here either nor am I pro App Store or anything like that personally I just find the 2 hours trial really cool but the try first pay to unlock full games feature sounds good as well I have seen some games that does that, although it might give cheapskates the wrong impression knowing some of them don't bother to read the description. Over in Facebook KEMCO Global posted an update for Asdivine Hearts and most of the comments in the status wants the game for free. It's your typical KEMCO RPG now with sharp highly defined graphics, battles are a lot better and animations are dynamic (as they put it) but still minimal, I did posted my impression on page 2, post #14, have a look. EDIT: After spending a bit more time I've to say the game is actually really promising. While I still stand by my words that Hearts does not offer anything new or different on the table but this title has got to be one of KEMCO's best, boss battles are actually challenging, there are obstacles that could throw a wench to your strategy, skills are useful for once and the localization is top-notch. Some little things I noticed; the character portrait in battles changes when they are attacking/casting magic, nice quirk really. Loving it so far.
Hmm I might have to buy this one. I saw the trailer and the animations are indeed a lot more lively. It seems they lack more animations in terms of attacking but they look great on "standby". I haven't bought many of their games because I feel like they're too short to invest the money and time into so that's my only concern. I honestly would by some other games if it's $4+ and lasts 4-5 hours. For an RPG, I'm not looking for a quick game hence being an RPG. Kemco seems to think RPGs are play and throw away titles at times.
Keep on sharing your thoughts about this one, I want to buy it, but still with doubt , but maybe I will give it a shot
So, how is "asdivine" pronounced? The way I say it in my head makes me chuckle like Beavis or Butthead.
Okay just some quick thoughts since I've only played an hour so I need more time but so far it's one of my favorite Kemco games. The team that's doing this is pretty good (not sure how people can tell which team is making what game?), and the new animations could be better but they're the best 2D animations Kemco has had so far. The sprites look a bit more lively and luckily the graphics are crisp as well. The translations are incredibly good so the English is perfect. The story is actually a bit intriguing even though it isn't super amazing. I do want to know more of what's going to happen. The rubix gem slots is my favorite part. Reminds me of Resident Evil's item box. So far it's really simple but I hope later in the game I'll get some weird shapes. I love making bonuses like fitting into a puzzle. It offers some fun combinations. I do wish they started out with a bigger cube and bigger gems. The smaller it is the "simpler" it looks. I set the game on hard and it's quite enjoyable. I already died in game early on so I love this challenge. The interfaces are all really good. The dpad can be moved and there's easy to access areas of the menu. I'm very impressed. I still don't like the way characters move in the Kemco games so that's one negative. The landscapes are barren and look bland. Based on the game description it sounds like the game is pretty long but I can't say for sure. I hope it is because I'm enjoying it so far. So far I'd rate it 8/10!
L.Lawliet has posted his/her impression and soon Syro, too! In my honest opinion, if a KEMCO game was created by EXE-CREATE or Hit-Point there is potential but right now my favorite developer has got to be EXE-CREATE! They're also responsible for Dragons Odyssey Frans which is another great ARPG. Anyways, having a blast with Hearts. - Superb localization! - Crisp, sharp and clear graphics - Lively or dynamic animations (but still nothing super fancy) - An okay story - Battles are fun and can be challenging - There are 4 difficulties to choose from - A very polished RPG overall To add on, yes, the interface/menu are really organized and professional looking, to be honest, this game could be on the SNES, or on the NDS. You should grab it when it's only $5 or less. As Divine? Haha.
This is probably he most fun I've had with a Kemco game personally. I got destroyed by the first boss on hard and loved every second. I like how you can use skills constantly in this game as you get some recharge every round. And the cat god is hilarious.
Yeah, about skills, there's something the game doesn't explain very well. For instance, there's something called "Rebound time". So far I've seen the letters "S" and "M" assigned to rebound time, which I assume is "small" and "medium". I believe this means when you use a skill with a character, the next turn will be delayed a little compared to a move without rebound time (like a simple attack). Problem is, the game doesn't really show you how big that delay is. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but that's the impression I'm getting. Also, so far it seems to me that the "Attack" command is fairly useless since skills recharge every turn. It would be usefull if it was showed how much faster that character could attack again as opposed to using a skill, but the game doesn't really show. Other than that, I'm actually enjoying the game too. All the Kemco games I played before felt very choppy, janky and unpolished, with translations that ranged from dry to unnatural. This one feels very smooth, with a competent translation. The UI is also better designed. Aside from the issues I'm having with skills, the combat feels good. I don't think it will get very deep or anything, but playing it on hard the first boss destroyed me too. Visuals are very sharp. Enemies have a slick animation in battle, and the 2D look is much better than that terrible 3D battle engine. So far it's promising. I think it will end up being a decent RPG.
Just got my fifth party member and the game introduced the formation and Trust Charge system, very exciting!
This game is something of a chimera of past EXE-Create systems and either improves upon them or at least matches their earlier incarnations. It's particularly interesting to see the affinity sequences from Warlord Revival resurface.
Have you made your purchase and played it? If so, do you enjoy it? Been looking for Warlord Revival for a long time; it slipped my mind, thank you. Another great title by EXE.
