Purchased. I think I got this for windows from indiegogo (does that sound right?) but I am always glad to give these guys 5 bucks. I was just playing PK2 again yesterday.
Couldnt resist. I like the graphics and such kindof games and since Im on a16gb ipad the file size of the game pleased me additionally of course.
After playing for a while last night I wrote an app store review, which I'll share here: This is basically a re-skin of the Pocket Kingdoms 2 map of the same name, but lovingly developed for modern mobile devices. All of the game's graphics have been completely redone from scratch over 4 years. Textures are sharp, colors pop, and the world comes to life in a way that PK2 never quite did. "Fat finger" mode appears to be gone, but on my iPhone 5 the game is more responsive and hitboxes seem more precise, and I'm not missing it. So the game is an upgrade from top to bottom - well worth the money. There are also three difficulty levels now. In-app purchases are limited to gold in case you are totally stuck, so they're more than optional, they're an aid that can and should be avoided, unless you want to tip the devs of course. Speaking of the devs, the game still pauses at the end of the "day" (although very briefly), which tells me that it's built on an engine designed for a new Pocket Kingdoms game. I dearly hope that project ends up happening, because there is nothing better than having a true Heroes of Might and Magic clone on my phone. For the Ironfists!
Am I missing something here or is this just the Royal Bounty campaign found in Palm Kingdoms 2 with slightly better graphics? So far it is. Please tell me there's much more added map/story/minion whatever wise over the Palm Kingdoms campaign.so far it's the same. I've already played that campaign to death in PK2 and will be super pissed if that's all this is.
Looks like this developer has packed up and gone home. Everything released by iosoftware seems to have been removed from AppStore and purchase history. Including all versions of Palm Kingdoms which I've personally spent a small fortune on. Not sure what's going on but it's sad to see this stuff happen.
They are not gone. Got an e-mail from them. Apple Terminated their license, due to suspicious activity. and maybe © issues. They don't know why and Apple won't tell them. They advised to ask for a refund from Apple, to support them.. so no clue what's going on.
They just kicked us out without prior notice or explanation, and deleted the games from your purchase history. So I think it would be fair to demand your money back that they as it now turned out (scammed?) from you, if you can no longer download them. Because if we make another account and put everything back to app store, it will technically be a different app, that you would have to buy again, as old apps have been deleted, not disabled or anything. I don't even have access to the developer panel anymore. And yes, they never paid us for the last month or two either...
My downloads are from 2013 lol, and you cannot get a refund for that anymore.. you need to contact Apple support. and don't think it's worth it.. I paid for it, and it works on my ipad pro, so I'll just back it up on my itunes if needed... so no need for me to ask for a refund... besides you guys deserve the money.. Kinda sucks, so that means that the new game is not coming anymore to IOS then
it probably ain't working that way. An itunes backup contains info of the app IDs you had. When you restore it, it requests those apps from the store. If the request is denied, you won't have it.
So, how'd you manage to get round the 'Apple Narcs' then - change of company/app name and hope you don't get noticed - or did you manage to smooth over the copyright issues? I'd be reluctant to pay £3.99 and find it disappears again!
it's not about copyright issues. It's some kind of Apple pre-menstrual syndrome. They never bothered to explain.
Seriously?! And you never thought to chase it up and find out? Am I right in saying this is exactly the same game but with a different name then? If so, then again I would reiterate my reluctance to spend £3.99 on a game that might be removed at Apple's whim because of the same issue occurring again - in other words, how do you know the issue has been resolved? I notice the development/publisher name is different to the original (I think) and also to the name you use in the TA forum. Please don't take this the wrong way, I'm hoping you can see my concern?
We used a different publisher. They didn't want to re-release the same game name that was already marketed previously. There's absolutely NO guarantee for an iOS developer not to be banned for no reason, and Apple never refunds the users. That's the reality these days. Steve Jobs really has died.
