2-5 needs to be done in 2 shots for the badge and it has nothing to do with the metal pole.

 

If somebody (looking at the Cowboy) would have told me i should have a look at the achievement's name for getting the badge in 2-5 i would have figured it out quicker. So: have a look at the name of the achievement for getting the gunslinger badge in 2-5!

In level 2-12, I used 2 shots to get the gunslinger badge. Seems like there is a way to use 1.

You can get the gunslinger badge in 2-13 using 2 shots and in 2-14 using 3 shots.

 

Yes, it can be done in 1. You need to get the box to explode in a way that sends some creatures right and some to the left. Look for a spot that gets the bomb to ride on the top left side of the box...
