Right, that's a good thing, but we haven't seen anything with this title for over a year (that's the "out of nowhere" part). Anyway, I'll probably pick it up now...
That's a steal I think. My favorite game back in 2009. Should be nice to play on my new iPod Touch 4.
I always had this game in mind, now might get the opportunity, but first i would like some impressions, anyone willing to help me out? To help you out: i always thought this game was kind of childish...
Can someone tell me if both games only have tilt control. I very much dislike that method and would probably stop me from buying the games.
same concept I would to write down...I HATE tilt controls...but maybe I can do an exceptions for Rolando series cause the lite of the 2 games took me a lot. but why they do not add touch controls?
I felt this way too until I tried Hoggy from Raptisoft and now I think tilt can work quite nicely if done well.
People generally only hate tilt controls due to bad experience. There are a lot of crappy games out there using tilt, but once you realise that other games can and do actually get it right, it's fine. Rolando gets it right.
Is it worth getting the first one, too? Just thinking about 2 since that's the "new and improved" version. Do these games still hold up well today?
I seem to remember the original game (at least in the lite version) had controls other than tilt. Can anyone confirm this?
Wondering this too. I just got Rolando 2, but I'm not sure if I need the first one. I don't think they are related besides the general theme, so I wouldn't miss out on story.
Only spot the Rolando 1 update in Canada appstore, no Rolando 2 yet. Rolando 1 is a steal at 99c, but Rolando 2 has IAP and would cost a total of $5 to unlock all maps. Still remembered the day Rolando 1 was my first app purchase for my iPhone 3 at a whopping $9.99. In my book, Rolando series is the holy grails for iPhone/iPod. World of Goo is the holy grails for iPad. Oh, for those folks who wonder about tilt-control, this game is made for it, or the other way around--the phone is made for this game. Work wonderful.
Interesting about the IAP, as there is nothing listed in iTunes about that. Will have to check it out later. Sounds like I might want Rolando as well. It will probably be 2015 before I get to them though.
Play Rolando, and you will LIKE tilt controls. Seriously. It's that good, and it would not be as much fun with regular touch controls. It's made for tilt!
