Wow, intense! I must say this is by far my favorite game on the ipod touch.:)

Nice job as I said, you were very calculated and Ninja-like in your move to show us your power. Much more fun to make it a challenge that might be beaten, so that you can swat someone down again :)

Fortunately for you my objective C is strong! I corrected the "Bug Chaser" bug in 1.5, so you won't be able to break the game like that again ;)

Now I just need to get another good dungeon run started! :D

Well, with a post like that, it looks like SOMEbody owes the boards a strat guide!

    Or at least some tips.

Or at least the game-breaking exploit you found...! :D

Still loving the hell out of the game.

I was thinking with each new update, could you post all the secret characters and their abilities from the previous one? That way everyone could check them out, and the fun of trying to find out the names would still be there.

Yes, that may be a good idea... some of them are hard to guess! I know that not many of the last batch have been guessed, I think most have been clued in. Several of the new female characters have been discovered already though!

We've got a FAQ and strategy guide coming, and our first ever leaderboard competition as well... and who knows, probably an few more updates too. Stay tuned everyone! ;)

Many thanks to all the great folks posting in this thread and our forums!!!

And some of those clues have been pretty damned obscure, too........I second that motion ;)

Darn! You tried huh?! Sorry I made them obscure. Just for digging around here all afternoon... there's a number of characters similar to the "Jared" character who has and can identify rings... I'll be blunt then... If you take a peek through here you'll see when referring to potions I mentioned a "Drinking Game" :D

Try that out for a different sort of game experience! I will leak other characters from previous versions every day or two until we get caught up again ;)

Ok Ok, wait a minute. Are you telling me there's a secret character named "Jared"? 'Cause thats my actual name and the one I've been using since I got this game. I thought starting with rings was part of the game! Oh man, the farthest I made it so far is floor 21 and if I could only do that with a secret character then I'm doomed trying it as a regular joe!

I got this game a couple months ago, and I'll have to admit never being an original rogue player I played around with it for a few days and sort of went "neat". But with following along with these threads I started to play it more and more and learn more about it, and for the past couple of weeks it is my far and away most played game, iPod or otherwise. It took a while for me to get into, but now I can see I'll be hooked for life. Honest to goodness the best money I've spent in the app store so far, thank you so much for making such an incredible game!

BTW been a creepy lurker around here for a few months, nice to meet you all. :D I'll try not to do anything stupid and get flamed into obscurity...

Don't worry about that.....I've been swearing at the game too much to have the energy to flame anybody LOL

*goes back to trying to figure out CD's little "drinking game" clue......wonders if the name is of a national bar and grill chain, much like the "Jared" one was for a jewelry store*

    Hmmmmmmmm......................

*curses in frustration* I'm drawing a blank on this one, especially since I haven't been inside a bar in years and can't figure out if it's a specific drinking game or a bar...............

They are the reason not to get past floor 15.

Yeah, tell me about it. Any troll tips?

I haven't made it past the trolls to get killed by the gryphons yet...

  14. Trolls? Psh. Wait 'til you meet the griffins. You'll invent all new and colourful curses in tongues you didn't know you spoke.

Ha well now I feel pretty stupid, I didn't even make the connection of "Jared" the jewelery store and starting with rings. D'oh! I guess that's better than starting out with a +2/+2 five dollar footlong of vinegar & oil squirting. ok wait, actually that would be awesome...

I've had some trouble with Trolls, but so far nothing has kicked my @ symbol more than Griffens. OOohhhh they make me wake up in a cold sweat at night! Although I hear Dragons are worse, I've only tangled with one before, but that was on floor 7 and was due to a wand of polymorph gone wrong, so I wasn't surprised to die handily in 1 hit. I guess in hindsight maybe I should've just dealt with that pesky slime LOL

Wait untill you start running into ur-viles and griffons.......especially griffons. Those frakking things are tough.......I've only managed to kill one twice in their real form. The polymorph staff can be your friend as you get deeper into the dungeon.......just don't test it on some weak monster. I did that once and ended up getting stomped by a dragon on the 9th floor :p

Other things that can help when you use them against monsters(though it's best to hang onto some of them for the deeper floors): potions of confusion, paralyisis, poison; wands/staves of slow monster, paralysis, fire, lightining, cold, cancellation(removes their magical abilities), magic missle, cornucopia(tunrs them into food);scrolls of monster confusion, hold monster, and scare moster.......for the last one you must drop one and stay standing on it..... the monsters will be scared of you, but you can keep striking them..............reading one causes them to laugh maniacally in the distance

Potion of hallucination is funny, but a pain if you drink it a the wrong time.........and watch out, the mushrooms sometime have that effect, too ;)

Ummm, NightOwl, you are overthinking... The name is literally "Drinking Game"...

Personally I am a bit leary of CD's choice there...
I mean, who would name their kid Drinking? We all know full well that anyone in the Game family should name their kid Crying, right!? Or maybe Bird And Game... that's even better. ;-)

Well look at some of the names some celebrities hang on their poor kids

Are you going to post it on the ChronoSoft forums?????
