Thanks for the advice @virtualboyfreak.. I haven't really tinkered with speed while fighting.. I only mess with the laser and shield strength.. Going to give it a go right now.. Can I add you on GC? ####
Game breaking bug! So I encountered yet another very unfortunate event ... What happened was I was destroyed by a ship just as he was being destroyed by an ally during an escort mission to the second last planet, and what happen was when I died and it was supposed to go to the regular screen saying cargo lost and all that, it didn't. It had message from the guy saying congratulations on completing the escort and all that and here's 500ish credits, and I couldn't hit back or close. It forced me to exit the app. When I opened it back up and hit return to game it's now back to the infinite crash loop I have explained before. Loving the game, but I think I may just have to give it a good break now until a patch comes out that may fix this issue, I don't feel like starting out all over again on a new game for a third time :/ had the green ship too! any though I don't mind patiently waiting for a patch just hope it fixes the issue where I won't have to start a new game, thanks again for the great gem that is rogue star!
Hey Opiate, follow my tips a few pages back. You can regain a previous savegame. You'll have lost just a few minutes of gameplay, believe me.

That's a bit like saying software development is easy because I know how it works Everything becomes easy after a while. However, the starting difficulty here is so ridiculously high, that new players will probably just stop bothering and move on. That's a problem. I want everyone to like and buy this. We need a good elite game on iOS, since Fishlabs abandoned the original GoF formula and decided to build IAP dreck instead.
Yeah, that's why I put "easy" between quotations I think the game is fantastic and if it succeeds it could be much better. Atm what we need is a quick fix for the corrupt savegame issue and other bugfixes for bugs that might have arised. Voted! Unfortunately, I think Implosion will be te most voted this week. There was/is a lot o hype surrounding that game.
I just read the Pocketgamer tips, and they are not helpful at all. Their main tip seems to be "accept escort missions and let your wingman do the job". Well, I tried that. First flight right after starting a new game, I accepted the escort mission, we were attacked by 5 pirates. I stayed back. It took the pirates about 10 seconds to dispatch the freight ship and escorts, effortlessly, then they went after me. At this point I'm seriously thinking my game is bugged or something. I'm simply not believing anyone can play this at that difficulty.
The game is hard at the beginning, really hard, I'm not going to argue about that. Nonetheless, I think most people forget about the speed control on the top right. Aside from managing energy (top left) during battle you have to manage speed (top right), to always have a pirate ship in front of you and move out from the ships who get on your six. When I forgot about speed, I got my ass kicked real hard, but as soon as I remembered about the speed control I got the battle under control (unless I was with the first ship and pirates had got my shield below 25%). My experience is that when you finally get the battles under control and win most of them, the experience is very satisfying. The battle I enjoyed the most was when I was at less than 1000km from a planet with my ship full of 160c load to sell on that planet and 3 pirates tried to kill me. It was like "I can't believe they got me here. They want my cargo!". I was nearly killed (shields below 8%), but I sent all energy to shields, tampered with speed to move as fast as I could and turned a lot. I recovered 100% shields and got to destroy them in the end. I didn't have so much fun with space/air battles since X-Wing on the PC.
@Captain Jim: I have had my savegame file corrupted again, but this time I have a backup in my mail. Do you want it to have a look at it and see why it got corrupted? I'll PM you now too.
I am totally agree whit you, mate! Once you manage to control speed and shields you can win virtually every fight even whit the first ship in the game. And this is so satisfying!!! Yes, like Elite or X-Wing from those wonderful years!!!
It's so quiet... It seems we are all playing and getting more expert in piloting our ships and trading our goods...!!! The best game of the year in my opinion!
I also think it's a great candidate to GotY. Btw, devs PM'd me and I sent them the corrupted savegame for them to check. Let's hope we get a fix real soon. They're more active in their FB account than here though
Wow, I'm on a mission worth 7k at Tor and it's amazingly difficult. Spoiler Once you get to the waypoint (difficult because you get attacked by pirates very often) you find a ship being captured by a tractor beam. First you have to destroy 2 waves of 3 pirates each, and after the tractor beam. And you have to do it fast enough so that the ship doesn't get boarded. Unfortunately, when you think it's over more pirates appear trying to destroy the cargo ship. And after... I don't know what happens after, because they indeed destroyed the cargo ship, so I failed the mission. 4 times in a row that I've failed the f$£¥#%+ mission
Yes, after trying 2-3 more times and failing, I'm going to trade to achieve the 30k I need for the Orion spaceship and I'll retake the mission then. This game is incredibly addictive On a side note, I've noticed that all my corrupted savegames happened when I was in a base. I've never had a corrupted savegame while I was outside of the bases. I'll keep on leaving from the bases prior to exiting the game, to see if I can keep my savegame without getting corrupted.
So does anyone know if this game supports mifi controllers? I asked a while back but nobody had any answer.
I bought the 12 thousand dollar ship and I want to buy the next one. But it always says that it is unavailable to buy at this sector. I've been to every sector it always says unavailable. Anyone else having this problem
