Rogue Planet is amazing in itself also. What other TBS game other than BfW has 150+ hours of gameplay?
yeah i have rogue planet. but going away from only TBS for a moment.. I was wondering what other games are for "hardcore gamers" in the app store.
Hm... you could check out Zenonia. But I digress. The only hardcore titles I've come across are Iron Fist Boxing (best boxing game in the App Store, beats down Touch KO + Super KO Boxing 2 by a long shot, review by me here) , Undercroft and The Quest, Romance of the Three Kingdoms Touch (great game, is a really in-depth TBS that has all aspects of management, warfare, and diplomacy in it), The Kings (a copy of RTK, not nearly as good but also a lot cheaper), and Chronicles of Inotia: Wanderer of Luone (I beta tested it, should be coming sometime in December). Hope that helped a bit!
Thanks will look into RTK, and do some research on Undercroft vs. The Quest. EDIT: nice review on Iron Fist Boxing, adding that to the list.
If Battle for Wesnoth had Rogue Planet's graphics and RTK's depth, complexity and realness, the resulting game would be the perfect TBS game.
Battle for Wesnoth... 300 hours of gameplay?? that's a LIE!! it's more like 500 hours.. if you really want to finish the game COMPLETELY! + 200 campaigns and additional campaigns coming, lag fixes coming, etc coming..
I totally agree with you here, if somebody brought that to the iDevice I would gladly pay $10 to $15 for it.
Personally, I loved RTK because of it's complexity and realism, and because it had tons of playtime (more than 300 hours) due to lots of army management and officer customization. Never really cared much for The Quest, but Undercroft was pretty good. Iron Fist Boxing 3rd Strike is AMAZING. I love it, and it should be on every fighting game lover's iDevice.
Hi, is Battle for wenoth, similar to like say fire emblem??? since its medieval / fantasy theme.... also it seems like everyone know about this game way before the game came out to the iphone... is that really popular? because i never heard of it at all... until TA....
Battle for Wesnoth = Fire Emblem Rogue Planet = Advance Wars A lot of people knew about Battle for Wesnoth because there's a completely free PC and Mac version.
BfW came out back in 1996 and they've been updating the desktop version with new campaigns and other stuff .... and they still are updating them today i think.... so im pretty sure app version will also have bunch of updates to catch up with desktop version... i hope lol...
In my humble opinion I am very happy I purchased Battle for Wesnoth. I mean I am not seasoned TBS player and at times BFW can get slightly confusing in terms of depth and strategy, I personally felt it added a good "realism" to the game. There are so many factors in play that it really feels like you are commanding a band of soldiers in a realistic environment, and there is virtually no absolute best way to complete a level, you get to feel your way through the game, almost as if you are putting yourself into the soldiers shoes and asking yourself "hmmm how should I survive this". Also the characters clings on to you as well, since units carry on from previous battles, leveling them up and desperately trying to keep them, morph them from generic factory soldiers that comes in a dozen for 200 GP, into real companions throughout the whole journey. But enough rambling from me, I voted for BFW because that is the only one I have. I have nothing against Rogue Planet, sure it's a great game, just saying BFW is truly a wonder and one worth getting.
