I picked this up for 79p, thought was pretty decent for a stealth game. (Other than the guards waddling and looking camp )
Please do. The impression on the first page with a 1* rating isn't promoting the game too well. Give us more imps. Thanks!
Glad to hear you picked it up! There is not much risk at the reduced price (honestly, what does 79p really get you?). There is a surprising depth of gameplay and mechanics in Rogue Agent and puzzles get quite tough toward the end. I would be curious if anyone has finished and discovered the truth of the game yet (need to complete all 52 levels to get the full ending)
The gameplay was more rudimentary than I had expected. You tap on a destination point to walk there, double tap to run there. You can be hidden when youre in the shadows and more "vulnerable" to being spotted when youre in light. There are enough levels to keep you busy but the lack of freshness in a genre thats overdone will make it fall short. I suggest having a score/in game currency system where the player is incentivized to do well by introducing a collection of upgrades/customizable items.
Hopefully you get a little deeper into it - gadgets, minigames and enemy upgrades freshen the gameplay with a new mechanic added every 4 levels to offer some very interesting puzzles to solve I did a series of Webisodes going through the mechanics for those interested: GADGETS: Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel MINIGAMES: Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel ENEMIES: Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel
Lucky people to get the promo code!!! I'm the one who posted the sale on the sale thread... Doesn't that deserve a promo code? Just kidding!
Oh ok. I just assumed with "New game day" that the code was overlooked. Here is another: Remember guys, Rogue Agent has been reduced to $0.99 USD until Valentines Day! We had positive reviews from a number of sites: Cult of Mac, App Addict, App Advice, Droid Gamers and a bunch of foreign language sites (oddly enough - over half our downloads so far are Europe). You really don't want to miss out on snagging this game for cheap.
Just the ones in the video: Wiring - Where you slice wires and connect others to complete puzzles (these are all handmade and unique) Lockpicking - where you use physics to jiggle each tumbler in a lock (some locks have more or less tumblers) Hacking - A number game where you identify numbers that repeat in each row
Another promo code for you fine folks I can also reveal we have been rapid prototyping ideas for our next game with Unity (for Rogue Agent we used our own engine)
