It really was...you guessed it...harmless. The RL addiction though, that wasn't harmless at all. This (Sideswipe) is proving to be just as bad, or even badd--better. RealisticArcadeSimulator Well-Known Member Feb 15, 2018 158 38 28 #10 RealisticArcadeSimulator, Dec 1, 2021 Thanks for the input, I 'll keep an eye on it. The description says there is an offline component as well. Is it actually willing to start without internet connection? Talbs Well-Known Member May 1, 2011 2,616 377 83 #11 Talbs, Dec 1, 2021 While the game does look to be set up for offline play, and indeed does load to main menu when offline. I’ve tested it, and found that trying to play a match against bots (exhibition), takes me back to the main screen again. Not sure if it’s just me or they haven’t sorted this aspect yet. but you realise the game is free to play / try yourself. RealisticArcadeSimulator Well-Known Member Feb 15, 2018 158 38 28 #12 RealisticArcadeSimulator, Dec 2, 2021 Thanks, for checking on it. Perhaps then I'll have a reason to play something other than RL Sideswipe. As I feared, this has sunk its hooks into me just like good ol' regular Rocket League did. The same exhilaration in victory, the same rage in loss...I can't get over how well they nailed the formula. I have no reason to ever play regular RL again! Talbs likes this. I don’t see how this could be anything but my Game of the Year, and I’m kind of terrified to see how many hours I’ll end up sinking into this. Oh, and of course…honored my eternal RL conflict made it to the GotW post! Talbs Well-Known Member May 1, 2011 2,616 377 83 #17 Talbs, Dec 4, 2021 Yeh I’m having my own internal debate about whether I actually prefer this over regular rocket league. Which the first thought of that is just blasphemy....I can’t say that!? Can I!? Maybe I’m just getting old, but even though I’ve got a decent amount of hours in the original rocket league (nothing big but something like 50 hours), I still find myself getting frustrated with all the controls and finesse involved just to hit the damn ball. but this version..........while still requiring some skill development, is just way easier to grasp and still I’m finding equally as fun. I also never enjoyed in RL how much the ball can go off camera. Or even when across the field you can hardly see it. While it can go off camera in this game, it’s hardly ever far away. RLSS (what are we calling it?), just corrected some of the issues I had with RL (though probably just more related to my age like I said). ricky likes this. RLSS is very good, that require some skill, but more accessible than RL. My only issue is why they have authorized controller... its a bit unfair for ppl who doesn't have a physics controller. For me this game need to be virtual controller only, its a mobile game... metalcasket Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze May 24, 2010 11,065 1,342 113 Deepest Circle, Hel #19 metalcasket, Dec 4, 2021 I agree. It’s VERY clear when people are using controllers and from my experience, it seems the vast majority are playing with ones. To say I’m fantastic at Rocket League (or RLSS, since we’re doing that) would be a huge overstatement, but I’m alright…but the maneuverability some folks have while playing this is just impossible with touch controls. Hell, even judging how much boost to use can be unpredictable with touch. Still LOVE the game though. AltsKev likes this. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
