On codes Dear players! We see that codes go so fast like hot cakes, and current set is almost gone... So there will be additional extra batch of codes (really final!! sorry!) WILL BE RELEASED IN 5 HOURS from this post! Please take your chance that's all that we can do for now )
I was so excited about this game but was unfortunate to miss a code. This game had me at robots. So im still pretty pumped about this.
This makes no sense. One code gets you the game. More gets you squat, zero, zip, it simply uses up a code but you gain nothing by doing so. You can't "reserve" them for someone else, so why would anyone waste codes (and time) by redeeming more than one for their own use? The whining about "lurkers" is dumb too. Some folks aren't signed into their accounts at the time they redeem, some have been so harassed after appearing here to thank developers for posting codes that they no longer wish to "out" themselves, some codes get instantly copied to foreign websites, and some developers post the same codes in multiple places. There are many explanations, and given the stated policy of this site to let developers distribute codes in the manner that they choose, the whining about it is out of place and I'm surprised to see a moderator participate in such behavior. I'd rather see the effort put into discouraging the begging that's increasingly more common. It's the developer's app, and it's up to them to decide if giving away promo codes will be beneficial to them or not, and they will choose to do so in a way that's beneficial to them and their app. No one is entitled to receive a promo code.
I know they'll say they wanted an iPad code and an iPhone code but that's like saying, sorry you can't have one cause I need to play it on every device I own. PICK ONE!
Oh I think I see what you mean: you're talking about devs who release promo codes for separate iPhone and iPad apps, like Angry Birds and Angry Birds HD, and folks take one for each. Still, there again, if the developer wanted to restrict it to one code per person, they could simply ask people to PM them for a code specifying their preferred device. It's really up to the developer to choose how they want to distribute their codes. And speaking as someone who has beta tested on multiple devices, sometimes it's in the best interests of a developer to have the same person test an app on multiple devices, especially if they have a particular playing style and they're good at finding bugs. I realize that's not the case being discussed here, but if you're posting promo codes in public then it's a possible motivator.
