Well...it's been updated, but there's no mention of a performance fix. :/ Guess I'll have to wait and see.
it says that it added "Graphic Effects Options for older devices" so hopefully that'll help with the lag... =oD ^^^ it's in the Options Menu.
Considering iPhone 4 isn't exactly an "older device" I sure hope they took the time to fix things. If sacrificing graphics on a new device was their only solution...*loads shotgun*
Well, I'm pissed. Still has lots of lag offline and crashes offline during level 3. No change at alll that I can see in performance. Sorry, I know a lot of you wanted the control changes but performance issues should have taken priority.
Left a message about the performance issues even after the update on their Facebook wall and it looks like they deleted it!!!! Wow, talk about poor customer service. I know some of you really like this game and it has been getting good reviews. But unless they at least respond to the issues, I will definately not buy from this developer again.
Nope. Didn't think I was. Just saying that I was disappointed that the new updated didn't fix performance issues, that I thought that that should have been addressed before control issues -- and if they really think this should have only been for 4G devices and up that they shouldn't given those with older devices the ability to purchase it. Just the facts. Wasn't being nasty about it.
Yeah, it seems like the devs don't reach out to customers at all. They've been mostly silent in the buildup and now have clammed up completely with the performance issues.
Posted again on their wall... maybe a bit snippier this time because I mentioned about their deleting my first post and how that they don't seem to care about customer service. We'll see if that one too is removed.
Holy crap! They just deleted that one too! And even a comment I made on a different post (that complimented the update), in which I just said that it helped with controls but not performance. Well, I didn't want to do this. But now, I guess I have no other choice but to ask for my money back. This has got to be the worse experience I've had with a dev yet. And I usually like interacting with devs, at least on this forum, because most of them want feedback and respond to it.
yeah... if they're not here on TA, they usually delete comments that show their game in a negative light... I've had this problem with LOADS of developers that were not here on TA... posting on youtube, and Facebook... even being polite, just brining up issues, the comments end up getting deleted, VERY quickly. Devs like this deserve to go broke... Because of your comments, I'll never buy from Fenix Fire again... they're added to the list of dev companies that will never get another cent from me.
FINALLY, it's running absolutely well on my iPhone 4 now. Good times for platform lovers. Cordy, Bean's Quest (with a second world), NyxQuest, this.... nice!
Glad to hear that you've had similar experiences. What gets me is that the TA review I think was the only one that mentioned that there were some that were having performance issues. They've gotten stellar reviews for this game (and it probably is a great game for those who aren't having the issues). Maybe I'm being unreasonable, but I think other review sites should try games out on different hardware IF the game is expected to run on that hardware. They've added to the app description that they recommend 4G and up. But that wasn't there when they released it. And people with older devices are still not blocked from buying it. Anyway, enough is enough, I'm done with them.
Video of updated version with d-pad controls (Android version). Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel Yeah, I checked, you were right. I don't know if they are arrogant or just fearful of criticism, it is their first game after all. But it's not we're pestering them with pleas to drop the price or other tripe, it's legitimate problems with the game. More and more it seems seems to be swinging the wrong way. They originally seemed really cool on this podcast though, another husband and wife team like Imangi Studios and Mika Mobile. http://theplayvault.com/wp/2011/07/12/tpv-podcast-fenix-fire-interview/
