Finally got a chance to try this on my iPad 2 and, wow, what a difference 60 FPS makes! The thumbstick actually works very well on the higher end device because the higher framerate makes it perfectly responsive. On the iPhone 4 and slower devices buttons would likely work better because there would be no re-centering lag. I think I'll be deleting this one from my iPhone and keeping it on my iPad -- at least till I pick up my iPhone 5 .
This app will be added to my list of apps that I get to the play when i get an iPod Touch 4G/5G. It'll go great with Gears, Death Rally and Cordy. For now, I've only played once, so I'll keep trying. And from reading awp69 posts, I can tell this app does not run well on the 2G. Bummer.
of all the videos I've seen I find it hard to believe the graphics in this game are so great that it can't run smoothly on the iPhone 4, especially with so many other games looking just as good and running great. Terrible programming is what I blame.
iPhone4 - A little disappointed it doesn't run "as advertised" on my device. I can only hope they patch this game to run as so, because from what I see, this game was demonstrated and intended for an iPad2... While it does run decent, the framerate is pretty sad. Device has been reset. 5+ GB of space. Nothing else running. Unless they drastically fix the framerate via update, I feel ripped off.
I'm personally enjoying this a lot more than Cordy. The pacing and speed of the game just feels better, whereas Cordy seems to be sped up a bit. Just my preference.
SHOP $Pricing too HIGH! I think the shop prices for items are way out of reach for the typical gamer that can't pour a lot of hours into this game. I am over half way done and I just spent $300 on the spread gun, but i would imagine I may not have enough money now to buy one of the new suits until I replay chapters, or when I'm close to being through the last chapter. Every time I go to gather coins, 2/3 of the coins fall over the edge and I only catch on average 3 coins per opportunity. I now only have $19 dollars and I'm almost done with the SpacePort chapter. Am I the only one a little bummed that I'm not able to upgrade weapons sooner? It would make this a lot more fun to have the upgrade system opened up to more guns/suits on earlier chapters/levels. Awesome game, but dangit..wish I upgraded the suit first.
Level 2-1, The very beginning, as soon as the level starts jump around a bit (into empty air) and a powerup will appear yielding you 15 nuts, rinse repeat.
WOOHOO!!! Just got the $1000 suit, and the $500 gun... =oD Game just got a WHOLE LOT MORE INTERESTING!
worth the price? yes... compared to Cordy's $2... IMO, no... I'm really enjoying Cordy more... but I'm all about some exploratory platformers (Metroid II is my favorite game EVER) - so Cordy falls right into that category. Depends on what you like in a platformer. Cordy has the exploration of Metroid mixed with the acrobatics of Sonic - with MASSIVELY large levels (for an iOS game), while Roboto has the platforming of Mario mixed with a sort of (VERY easy) Mega Man shoot-em-up quality - with more straight forward side-scrolling levels that are not very long. If you've got the money, I think they're both quality platformer titles... but if you can only get one... choose which platforming genre you like more. =o) Hope that helps...
If I'm looking for all the cogs in certain levels, the mid to latter ones, some levels take 20 mins or more. But it's such a blast to play. Cordy will never leave my iPad 2
about 4 hours... =oP Didn't get all the stars yet... and I was trying to collect all the little blue things I could... =oP and agreed... once I finally get all the stars, I'm resetting my data and playing again... I ABSOLUTELY LOVE CORDY!! Then again... the last couple levels in world 2 and all of world 3 is a blast in Roboto... so this one will never leave my device either... both are top notch platformers... =oP I haven't beaten Roboto yet... but I'm guessing the finish time is about the same... for me anyway... and I die a lot... =oP But I'm thinking on average it'll be about 2-2 1/2 hours to beat Roboto, and 3-4 to beat Cordy on people's first times through...
