What a day! 2 fantastic platformers in one day I bought Cordy (looks beautiful and total surprise release) And I just got Roboto, which looks amazing too. The visuals are far better on the iPad 2 than any video shows. They both play and look great. Happy day!
This is freaking STUNNING! And to think this may even look and play better on the soon-to-come iPhone Whatever They'll Call It. I wish the control stick were a bit bigger, though. This is utterly wicked. Reminds me of a more gorgeous Cave Story.
After playing the online demo, I jumped on this but am getting frequent crashes even after reboot - particularly on the second level when shooting the first enemy. Anyone else with crashes?
So I'm using an iPhone 4 and I kinda feel this game is a bit choppy. Anyone else? I closed all my programs.
Yup. Playing on iPhone 4 here, this looks like a fantastic game but it's completely raped by the bad framerate. It is just not fun to play like this and I'm even considering trying to get a refund.
Framerate isn't silky smooth on my iPod Touch 4 and is slightly pixellated, thought it was just me. And it needs a dpad instead of that joystick.
Thanks for all the feedback regarding bad framerate, will wait for a fix. In the meantime, Cordy - iOS platform masterpiece - is doing the job perfectly.
Im not experiencing lag at all. I usually have like 324mb of RAM and all my apps closed the nothing. I have an iPhone 4 4.3.3 with SBSettings and its smooth. After installing i recommend a reboot, if still laggy uninstall, reboot and install again, and again another reboot (did that with other games before). I swear it runs fine on mine
Any news on how it runs on a 3GS? Kinda concerned, considering all the posts about framerate issues on 4G and iPad.
Ran great on the iPad 2 last night, tried it this am on the iPhone 4 and it renders in slow motion basically, about a stuttering 3-4fps I would say, completely unplayable :-(
It runs at a fairly consistent 25-30 FPS on my iPhone 4. I use System Activity Monitor to clear my RAM before playing (I'm unjailbroken), which seems to do the trick. That's basically what the 3DS and the PSP do whenever you start a game, since neither has multitasking. I've also noticed that when you lose 3G or Wi-fi the game constantly tries to reconnect to GameCenter, which brings it to a crawl.
I love Cordy and bought the full iPad version yesterday. It stands tall in iOS, however, it was an Android exclusive first
Played a bit this morning and - 1. The Good News: I finally was able get past the first enemy on the second level without it crashing 2. The Bad News: The framerate is horrific. I was playing on my iPod Touch away from wi-fi and it's so slow that I'm not enjoying it. So the answer to the game's issues, to me, seems to be something to do with wi-fi or 3G. I've never played a game that connection to leaderboards (Open Feint or whatever) has actually played WORSE when offline. Usually, it's that occassional achievement or something dealing with OF or GC that causes a game to pause or drop in framerate. I don't understand why this one is worse without an online connection. Bad coding somewhere. I have a feeling that my crash when connected to wi-fi during the killing of the first enemy on the second level may be related to an Open Feint achievement or something. So I either play it with incredibly bad framerate --- no online. Or play it with decent framerate -- offline -- but with crashes. I know some of you seem to be having smooth framerates, but looks like I'm not alone from other posts. Hopefully the dev addresses this. EDIT: Also wanted to mention that I hate the joystick. I think arrows going left or right like in many other platformers work much better.
