League of Evil Elemental Rage Rolando 2 Perfect Cell Max and the Magic Marker My top 5 xP, not in any particular order though. If Perfect Cell doesn't count as a platformer, I'd replace it with Robot Wants Kitty.
Have all but Elemental and Max. They did not seem interesting to me, but I will take another look at them. Perfect cell was a great concept and well worth it, but I got bored by what I though was repetitive and slower gameplay. Love the others that have been stated. I am curious though, how a vertical action platformer would workout (level based although I will be getting the blocks cometh soon). There isn't anything like that is there? Thanks for the reponses.
Was going to say. Don't think Perfect Cell is exactly a platformer, but otherwise good list (unfortunately can't play Elementary Rage on my iPod 2G so I'd replace it with League of Evil). Anyway, sidetracking thread. So far RwK is awesome (and also would be on my list of top platformers on iOS).
Duh. Obviously wasn't reading very closely. Edited post. I'd replace it with Miss Claire Garden then (although the lack of checkpoints is pretty unforgiving for someone who's not great at platforming).
Surprised to see this FREE. I already paid for it, but I don't mind as it will be great once the devs release an update with level sharing. IMO, creating levels with the built-in level editor is as much fun as playing the game.
This is super super AWESOME!!! Anyone try the other games besides RwK? I'm curious about those too (even though I'll end up downloading all of them anyway).
I tried the 3d pool pro game (mentioned at start of this thread). It's okay, although after you line up your shot and press SHOOT, the camera angle pans around, making it hard to get your bearings and watch the shot in time. That one thing puts me off playing it more. But RwK is good!
Just gonna throw a vote in For Garage inc. Simple management game but great design/production value. Think Diner Dash for boys. Only gripe is it's short.
hehe. I got to beta test Elemental Rage. It was pretty fun. Not in my top 5 though. Top 5 in no particular order: League of Evil Robot Wants Kitty Pizza Boy Rolando 2 KAMI RETRO
I haven't played Kami Retro, but agree with the rest of your list. Make it a top 6 and add in Max and Magic Marker!
You like platform games, so I think you'll love Max. Back to RwK - I wonder if you'll be able to play shared levels (once that functionality is released), given your lack of wireless. I'm guessing probably not...
I heard so much commotion about RWK, so I gotta try it out. Garage INC. I been playing that game for a while and it's pretty fun. Will recommend it to anyone.
I've got only two other platform games and don't even care for those and have tried to really work at liking many other's but in the end I'm turned off....till Robot Wants Kitty came along and even took it to be free for me to try it. A really terrific game play with great controls (my main beef with platformers) and gave me a sense that perhaps there can be such games as these to look out for in the future that work well with the iOS.
Although you do jump like a platformer, I'm not sure if I'd count Kami Retro as one. It's got too many puzzle variables just to try to get where you're going and, IMO, can be pretty frustrating. That said it's still a good game. Not sure if Bounce On 2 is still "free", but I'm finding that to be one of the better platformers I've played on the iOS. Better than the first one, although it too can get challenging (those psychodelic levels are a bitch). As you can tell, I like platformers....just doesn't mean I'm great at them.
Eh'...forget it. I'm liking this game and platformers simply aren't my genre as a favorite. So I'm surprised to actually like one. That's about it.
