Great to hear the positive feedback on the new update - I'm glad it seems we're heading in the right direction! Lots more to come... I'd be interested to see what you come back with because I don't believe anything was changed in how XP was calculated in those terms - we just added the fix for Unibot buffs. I'll ask about it, but I'm pretty sure the calculation is the same as it always was. There certainly wasn't any plan to nerf XP gains to push IAP. That would be way too cunning Also, mean.
So for this Post, I actually found a old APK version and downgraded my game to test these, and my math was ok... But not perfetct So for each test you can run them both on each version to see that each Multiplier was removed. The tests involve double dashing off the first platform so you impact the lip of the first wall. --'FIRST UNICORN' +33% BONUS-- Make a team of 3 Common Robot Unicorns / Chopshop w/no bots. The new version uses the same math as the old one. --SCORE MULTIPLIER-- Turns out I was also wrong about this one too, not sure how I made this mistake. So overall these changes are between: 10% Nerf (3 Common Unicorns) AND 70% Nerf (3 Radiant Unicorns)
FYI, the new Buzz Bomber event isn't working. I've killed about 20 of them (this version and most recent) and it still says 0/5. But my overall 'Buzz Bombers Destroyed' stat has gone up.
Thanks Paxtez - we've confirmed that there is a bug in the Buzz Bomber event. We've replaced the event with a new one. Oh, additionally, I know I'm missing something, but what is the 70% nerf on Radiant unicorns referring to?
Bug report/suggestions/questions First of all, I wanted to thank nickfury and Paxtez for sharing and discussing all those informations on the game. Also thanks for quickly fixing the Buzz Bomber event. I just wanted to ask/report a few things (sorted by relevance): 1. Question/Suggestion on Tear Stones: Are there plans to allow the use of Tear Stones for anything else besides the Tear Stone Forge? Right now I'm sitting on approx. 300k Tear Stones and I don't really have the time to spent them on the Tear Stone Forge. Also I'm not really interested in the unicorns from the TS Forge anymore. I thing trading 1000 TS for 1 SC sounds pretty fair, or maybe the possibility to pay the higher Forges with Soul Crystals or Tear Stones, i.e. SC Forge: 20 SC or 20k TS Radiant Forge: 50 SC or 50k TS Bot Forge: 10 Bot Tokens or 100k TS. I think it's expensive enough to prevent an abundance of SC, but it would still feel rewarding for all the work collectionc the TS (and watching the ads ) 2. Bug Report "Events Completed" stat: I assume you complete an event by claiming all the rewards. I did it multiple times, also after the last update, but in my stats screen the number of completed events is still zero. Wasn't reaching all of the events goals enough to complete it or is this a bug? 3. Question/Suggestions on Unibots: Similar to TS, I have to many unibots (since I never get the one I still need). Obviously more than three of a kind are dead weight. Maybe one could add the ability to trade unibots for something else, e.g. reclaim 5 Bot Tokens or get 10 Soul Crystals for a bot. 4. Suggestion on Citadel Tier: I havn't yet reached the third tier, but i assume, that it's also just an optical improvement. I think adding something extra for the tiers might be interesting, i thought about adding something like, for example, a SC generation. 1SC every two hours when reaching Tier 2 and 1 Bot Token a day and 1SC per hour when reaching Tier 3. The 'Rarity Multiplier' for Radiant Unicorns is 3.0. So lets say you did a run with 3 Radiant Unicorns each running a distance to get 1000 XP. On the current version (1.08) your final XP would be: #1: 1000XP #2: 1000XP #3: 1000XP TOTAL: 3000XP On 1.07: #1 4000XP (1000XP * 1.3333 [First Unicorn Bonus] * 3.0 [Radiant Rarity Bonus]) #2 3000XP (1000XP * 3.0 [Radiant Rarity Bonus]) #3 3000XP (1000XP * 3.0 [Radiant Rarity Bonus]) TOTAL: 10000XP 10000XP vs 3000XP is the 70% XP nerf I was referring to since the 'First Unicorn' and the 'Rarity Multiplier' bonuses were removed. Patch fixes and XP changes Nickfury thank you again for posting updates and answering community questions. Appreciate you! Paxtez, thanks for testing the new patch out, couldnt wait to read your take on it. Been taking it all in myself, testing too. I desperately want nickfury and Paxtez to continue their topic. Quick question, I may be off a little here, but does this quote above mean that using more than 41% bonus xp is wasted? Example, like putting Bugga on a unicorn with +50% XP base already? As for the patch... Many of the worse problems fixed, Bugga, the forge rates are better, raids rates are better, events are better (luv the 3rd event today, big bawling large Tearstones!), events also display all reward chests when completing multiple goal rewards now. And unfixed... no First Unicorn bonus anymore?, TS Forge grinding takes longer now. Events Completed still stuck at 0. And these XP changes? Please continue nickfury and Paxtez. Still, I think this is a good update for the game as a whole, clean and polished.
This was something that I had, umm less than correct. =) What I was trying to say was if you had 40% XP Stat it was the same between the two versions, less then 40 new version was more XP, more than 40 old version was better. But disregard that now. The Bonus XP never took into account your XP Stat, when I did some of the testing I had 40% XP Stat, so I had assumed it was 5 + XP Stat. Not 7. Only after being able to downgrade my game was I able to go back and double check my my previous formulas. (Turns out there is also an issue with the leveling up section, but I still have to write up the correction).
the update new update seems to have fixed a bunch of things, bugga glitch, forge rates. overall really nice to see the game being maintained. my current gripe right now is how long the events are vs how long it takes to complete them. i'm LOVING having 3 now rather than just 2, but I can finish each event in a couple hours (and usually do after they come out), so i end up not playing again until there are new events. may i suggest: * shorter event times * events that get replaced by other (perhaps old) events when you complete an event. * some other mechanism for allowing you to continue grinding the event after you finish it (i.e. if the last prize is "10 SC" for 500 fairies, each additional 500 fairies you collect after the last prize gives you another 10 SC). really liking this game, would def pay for IAP to remove ads (i.e. auto-TS doubler, or auto-revive). i don't put money into game resources directly, so please give us another way to earn those precious SCs! more/faster events! or alternatively, I liked the idea another poster had earlier of higher tier'd citadels generating SCs. awesome to see a dev respond to feedback in such a positive way
I don't know if this is a bug. But it certainly feels like it is... I guess since it is a short raid it it got rounded to 0, but feels like it should always give at least 1...
Hi, new to this forum. Registered because I really like this game, but have a few irritating bugs. * When I run an Event, I might complete two rewards in one run, but only get the reward for one of them. Why not both? * Today on the event "Raid-iant Reaping" finished automatically without me even running it to completion. I had completed it to about 75% during the day and when I returned just now it sat at 100% and I did not get rewarded for its completion. * Earlier I got 0 bot tokens from a raid. Felt like a let-down. * Sometimes when landing on a flat surface the unicorn explodes as if crashing into something, but it looks like there was nothing to crash into.
Seems alot of people are getting the zero Bot tokens chest. I'm sure Pax is right when he said it's probably rounding down to 0, instead of at least 1. I can also confirm that 'Forge Uses: Radiant' no longer increases when used, in Stats. And 'Events Completed' has always never increased, as far as bugs for My Stats page goes. Any word from the powers that be on XP changes since patch, nickfury? Or maybe some new news on First Unicorn bonus coming back? Appreciate you nick! Also, Touch Arcade representing! Too many ads Recently this game has started to show ads after every single run (with no reward given). Why? Is this a bug? It is very annoying, I am already opting into ads after many of my runs to 2x my tear stones. This is too much.
Citadel Level I'm trying to figure out the formula for the power needed to level your citadel but I need more data. Would you guys be able to post your current Citadel level and the 'Next Upgrade at' number? Thanks! ads + robots agreed, ads after every game is crazy and got me to stop playing for a bit. it seems to have gone away, not sure tho, i might just still be grinding through events (wheezy warrior was challenging, so that was pretty cool). someone post when there are new bots, bc im currently hording bot tokens until there are more than the original set, since i already have 3+ of the useful ones (bugga and xeno)
Update to Guide I posted an update to my guide, some layout changes, some changes from the patch, and I rewrote the level up mechanics section (spoiler: My logic was flawed in the last version... grrr). RAINBOW UNICORN ATTACK 3 / FOREVER GUIDE v1.08b After playing with the current version for a little bit I have some thoughts concerns, also a little concerned that nickfury seems to have stopped responding to the thread. 1) The XP glitch / nerf needs to be addressed. I just finally got enough of the same Radiant unicorn to let me use it. But unfortunately it is Neo Mechrobo XR which doesn't provide any XP Gain so I won't really be able to use it. My current 3rd runner is Orbit XE (Epic / +40XP). If I use Bugga and run for 1000 XP worth of running I'm rewarded with (1900 XP on version 1.08). If I was to upgrade to my Neo Mechrobo XR it would cut it to 1500 XP . If I was to downgrade to 1.07 and use Neo Mech XR I would make 3000 XP for the same 1000 XP run, make more +30 TS from from Xeno and make get a score about 400% higher because of the +Score and the +Smash. 2) I know bots are a work in progress, the smoking event made me think. It seems like it would be fun that if bots changed game mechanics instead of just changing stats. With stats you can always min/max it to find the best bot, and the rest will never be used. If they are mechanics based each one could be useful depending on the event / players goal. (Think World of Warcraft's 'new' talent trees) For example bots could do: - Allow 3 dashes - No double jump, +100% XP - Runs start at max speed - Run speed doesn't increase - -100% XP, -100% TS, Soul Crystals sometimes spawn during runs. - Fewer Radiant Fairies needed for Radiant Burst - Star/Fairy Combo grows at 2x rate - -100% Smash, -50%TS, Impacting Stars/Enemies does not kill I think it would really add a lot of variety to the game. Want to do a quick 'sitting on the toilet' run, use max speed at start bot. Want to go for a high score, use the Run speed doesn't increase bot. 3) Bot tokens. And additional use for bot tokens could be used for all of the rushes, and then you could throw bot tokens in the store to purchase with real money. Just a small idea. 4) Events. Events used to reward like 40-80 SC for the max reward. Now it's 10-20 SC, they are a little quicker, but not 4x quicker. The smoking event was interesting (even if it took a while to finish). I think ideally there would be a daily event that needed about 5-10 runs to finish that rewarded like 20 SC, and the other one would be weekly, that needs about 30-45 runs to finish and rewards the old 80 SC. This would help the developers because there would be a 'need' to play which should help the DAU stat and the time of use. I'm sure a lot of people just log in once / twice a day to do raids and free chests. Please no more tear stones from Events, we have too many of them as it is. Or at the very least limit it the first reward. It would be pretty clean if all the Events did Rewards like #1 TS, #2 and #3 Bot Tokens, #4 and #5 SCs. 5) Tear stones: Leveling up an rolling unicorns is a pretty decent use of TSs, you can use it to supplement your XP gain. But it should be a little easier I did an experiment recently: I spent 25,550 Tear Stones, it took 35 minutes, and I gained about 25,000 XP. I think time was the main problem. If the Salvage time was about 2x faster, and there was a faster way to use the TS forge we wouldn't need any sort of TSs to Soul Crystal conversion or something. It sounds like I'm hating on the game, but only because I want to enjoy it more than I do. The XP glitch alone has cut my play time a lot, I normally only play enough to finish the events since it is such a hassle to downgrade my game version.
Some random thoughts on the game: 1. The wheel of fortune doesn't seem to be worth it. I often got a radiant chest only to get like 90 tear stones (rarely like 2-3 soul crystals but this isn't that much better). So there is barely any incentive in watching these videos. If this is your strategy to monetize, there should be at least the chance to get something worth it. 2. There is no real point in collecting tear stones at the moment. This has been stated numerous times in this thread and should be obvious to anybody willing to play this game for a couple of days. Therefore I cannot at all understand why you choose to set up a long term event that has the objective to collect tear stones only to get more tear stones as the reward. Doesn't make sense. You really need to implement a meaningful way to spend those tear stones. An easy strategy would be to be able to spend them at for example the radiant forge for like 50,000 tear stones a draw. 3. Personally I don't like the wheezy warrior event either. The game is simple not designed to have only one jump and no mid air jumps. So a lot of times when dying I said to myself 'well, there was no way to do that' instead of 'damn, I ####ed up'. This is not a characteristic of a hard game (or event) but it is simple unfair... and a game being unfair is no fun to play. Therefore, I am a little hesitant to the idea of including a lot of bots that change game mechanics. Or at least, they must be very carefully designed. 4. There are way to few bots. As others have stated, I stoped drawing at the bot forge as it doesn't make any sense at the moment. The number of bots should be increased. Another idea would be alternative ways to spend the bot marks, for example to improve / leveling up existing bots.
Agreed with pretty much everything that's been said lately, I've lost a lot of interest in the game, can't even be bothered with the TS event. Basically just log in to check raids. Thanks for the hard work @Paxtez, hopefully after a decent update I'll want to put it to use. One last thing, level 22, next upgrade 68600
