I bought the iPad version at release and tbh, it's always been freemium, it just has a price tag as well now and then.

I've got my little netbook setup with iTunes and update everything. I also keep the old versions of apps that get put in the recycle bin. I just restore them. So I'm building a library of what I own. Probably very hard for those with more apps to do, I only have 2800'ish,, but not impossible. I moved my iTunes library off to a 1TB external drive... And I still am doing fine with space. It's not too hard to just delete the bad versions and install just the version of an app I want.

It was a week or so to get everything setup, downloaded and updated. But I just left te netbook at work over the weekend when no one needed the net.
