Actually, I took us awhile but we have reached a deal with 3d Realms. The work on the iPhone version has resumed. The game will most likely come out in 2 flavors: full (dark war) and lite (based of the "hunt begins" shareware data files). We are shooting for X-mass time release. Should start beta testing in 2-3 weeks...

That is great to hear, thanks for the update. ROTT was always a true classic in my mind, I look forward to playing it again.

"Where arrrrre you?..." "ooooover heerrrre.." still remember the great multiplayer taunts =)

Good to hear this is still going. If you and the game do well, any chance you can bring more of 3D realms back catalogue to the app store?

Awesome! And if it works out, do Crystal Caves and Hocus Pocus. Both were some of my fav. platformers ever.

Wow, if the controls etc are good on this (like doom classic and wolf3d not like Duke nukem!) it will be an insta-buy!

rott is fantastic however this is not the sequel to wolf3d...apogee published this with conjuction of 3d realms, id software had nothing to do with it...may use the same engine but that does not make it a sequel.

There is going to be 4 main control schemes, using different combination of thumbsticks, swipes and tilt controls.
The video above shows the 2 stick control scheme. The sticks also can be swapped, inverted (for up/down motion) and calibrated for sensitivity.
