You hit the nail right on the head.

Gold is a BIG problem. You come to a point where you reach a brick wall in this game, and the yeti nerf wasn't great.

Spending 10 energy just for 150k gold, given the amount of health the yeti has, just doesn't seem worth it. There needs to be an easier way to get gold, and the daily gold mine just doesn't seem to cut it.

Hopefully the devs will listen. Or just give everyone an extra 40-50 energy to compensate.

I really do hope the new 'surprise' will make the grind somewhat more bearable though.

It sucks because it feels like complaining.

Truth is tho, the game needs more things to do and more actual content. Or, as an alternative QOL improvements so the grinding isn't so much bloody work.

Unfortunately, we got hit with a lot of things that slowed progression or gameplay this time around:
    1) yeti nerfs and capability buff
    2) energy nerf (friend gifting doesn't work)
    3) gold cost increases
    4) arena popup

On the flip, we got some new content, but in a very limited system: the campaign. Which is flawed at the moment because you can progress through it in bursts than purposefully stop. Campaign isn't hard. And it's a tiny, tiny portion of normal play so you can't call it "content"

What I'm saying is this: they can't just pump out new campaign stuff because the system is inadequate. They need to come up with other things for players to do in between campaign pushes.

I'd urge them to figure out what that is. Examples:

    1) Day-of-the- week events that each feature different and useful mats for crafting and upgrading heroes
    2) a revamp of the arena system that doesn't factor in the difference between team power.
    3) more control over equipment acquisition.

You know, things to do and ways to progress besides the two things we do over and over again.

Edit: I'm aware some of the changes were unintentional. It doesn't change reality tho. Huge energy nerf (friends) and the constant popup are pretty brutal. Sucks when combined with the intentional nerfs and general slowdown of progression.

There's still the alternative! If they can't get more content in soon, they can at least make the grind less grueling!

Aka things like nerfing the hell outta yeti himself (take heals out of his ability pool, lower hps) and maybe a button to skip ability animations.

Worst part of yeti is watching queen B's utterly worthless attack for the 800th time. So boring. So time consuming.

I will tell you why Mechanic is not overpower because his skill deal huge damage but in actual time, which mean he cant finish releasing all his skill in one time and at that duration he might be killed (fact that he doesnt have high def). Second thing is that his skill cant deal AoE, if Im not mistaken he only release 10 rocket and the enemies near him first will take that damage, so Felix can easily tank all of it (because he can charge and get evasion buff).

In high PvP rank battle (back in the day when old choosing opponnent still exist) your opponnent is very hard, and Mechanic is not game changer, it should be Kalari (great damage to front enemies while tanking cause evasion), Felix, Queen Teuta (quickly kill all their support) and back row often be Void Haier, Ella, Bard, Phoenix (just so hard to kill enemies when they have all the buff miss, defense...), and now the new hero Winter Warden will surely have slot in backrow too because of her longest stun AoE in game and has very high chance stunning too. Sometimes front row will have Mercenaries 5 star saint who can stun as well as deal good physical damage, or Lancelot.

So overall I think devs have done very good job balance hero, but what they need now is a good PvP system before thinking about buffing or nerfing hero. For example, what if people can split all their hero in 3 team and fight 3 vs 3 battle, now they need to judge base on their enemies formation and have a good tactic, put too many powerful in 1 team they can win easily but other 2 teams will have less power etc... When RoH have a good PvP system that actually does give player some strategic point of thinking, planning formation then they will have base to know which one to buff, nerf.

Just got hooked on this game as well :)

Add me as friend (after completing tutorial): B2B8F5

I just got a friend to help me with the Legendary yeti, very nice game mechanic, but it stopped giving loot after killing it 2 times?

I know everyone feel so bad with nerf, but it's preparation for a New PvP Mode, and sorry I did not tell about update detail.

In next update, Yeti no longer drop any coin, instead of Pirate Coin which can use to trade weapon in Pirate Shop (including 2,3,4,5 star and Legendary Weapon with more special weapon skill). Besides, you can also sell all of weakness weapon. HP,Damage and Yeti skill will be rework.

About Warrior, Merc and some other hero we had planned to update, we will not let down any hero. In fact, the past update, we did it (warrior, illyany) and we will continues .

Target of out coming is focus Tournament and New PvP mode, pls give us sometime to complete it and thank for all of comment about RoH, we surely will check.

Been playing and enjoying but still can't figure out how to get the Christmas bonuses.

My code is 6C8AC4. Do only new players have to add me after they do the tutorial or can anyone even if they've played for a while?

I'm at the point of having to click on a character slot as pointed out by the tutorial lady and the blinking dot but one liked, the screen turns black except for said lady and nothing happens. Is there a fix for this?

I agree with this and I'm hopeful for the changes.

    BUT

I don't feel obligated to play the game like I've been, which is trying to log in all the time to use my energy and collect my 3h timers.

And let's be realistic: once a game hits the point where you stop logging in diligently, it's only a matter of time before you never log in again because you stopped caring.

Point being: devs have a timeclock. I'm just the person voicing what a lot of players are already feeling. Bottom line is the longer they take to get the changes in, the more PAYING costumers they're going to lose, because it's the paying costumers who are the competitive ones in the top 200 (like I am) or who WANT to be in the top 200.

I hope they fix the game before I never log in again, I really do. But I don't owe the devs my time or my patience, so I'll just let nature take its course and what will be, will be. There's plenty of other games out there, and the make or break of those games and devs is execution, not intent.

Woo the update sounds very interesting! Can't wait to see how it pans out.

Though my one concern is that not everyone necessarily plays with friends or has a ton of friends to do yeti with. By making the only major source of good equipment the yeti store which requires strong friends, it cuts out a significant portion of the player base.

The best thing to do might be to severely nerf the yeti. Drop its health and defense a bit... make it beatable solo for the majority of players - but keep the friend aspect to make it even easier.

Personally it doesn't affect me since I have a decent helping of friends... but I can see where this would turn many off from continuing to play.

    Looks good Svenkas!

I've got a few questions about the update:

    1. A while back, Antony said you planned on sending the next update to Apple this past Friday (12/18). Did you guys manage to make that time? If not, that's fine :) but it would be nice to know how you guys are coming along so we don't have to go through what happened last time.

    2. You say the Yeti changes are coming out "next update." Does that mean the changes are in the update that's being submitted currently?

    3. You mention that you're removing regular coins as a drop from the yeti. That makes it so that players will only have one reliable source of coins - The Gold Mine. However, if this is the only source of income for players, I'm sure a lot of people will be frustrated, as you only get one key to the gold mine per day. If you do this, I would strongly suggest you either make the gold mine more rewarding or give us more ways to earn keys (for example, lower the price of the insanely priced gold mine keys in the arena).

Best post I've read all week. You definitely hit the nail on the head there. I absolutely love what the developers are trying to do with the game. For once, we actually have a game that does a good job of walking that incredibly fine line between free-to-play and pay-to-win. It's refreshing. That alone will probably keep me around for much longer than the content of the game deserves.

But you're right. Most people aren't that idealistic. If one game can't provide for them, they'll move on to another without a second thought. If the devs can't fix the (relatively) few problems there are with this game soon, they're going to get left behind.

I agree with this completely. The fact that the gold mine is restricted in two different ways needs to be altered. One suggestion I have is to make it require only the key, no energy. Give it the 30 minute time limit, and we can run it infinite times within that period. The other is you would need to have the higher tier players making at least 2 million per run to make it worth it.
These are really the only ways I see the gold mine getting even close to what it charges now. It being the same price as a saint wing for roughly 1 million gold total is pretty insane.
With the yeti gold changes, something needs to be done with the gold mine, or there will virtually no way to progress at all.

Wait... am I doing something different from all of you in the gold mine?

I usually get around 6m gold total from each key... I thought it was just complaining at first, but I've heard it too many times now that people are only getting 100k or 150k that I'm starting to wonder...

Each 10e run nets me 450-700k gold depending on how far I go (usually wave 7-9ish). I manage 11-12 runs per 30 minute key (have to spend one gem each time) -> ends up averaging right around 6-6.5m total gold. Has steadily increased by 5-10% every day too.

For me atleast, it's by far been the cheapest and easiest method to gain gold (the free daily key I mean-> I don't buy keys).

I get about the same amount per run. The gold mine scales in both difficulty and reward based on your progress in the quests, so I assume people who get less gold aren't as far along in the quest. Either way, it's barely a better return on your energy than fighting the yeti, and that's the problem.
