Nope, I've fought the yeti for 2wks already. No 3 star equipments. But the special ability (e.g. Bandit, lifesteal etc) binded to these equipments are better than what u can get in the shop.
For me the benefit was more playing time - more energy for events and tournament = increase in income and faster climbing on pvp. I'm felling the difference. I bought first time 7 day as a trial , after that I got 30 days. Cheaper mmo subscription on the go. I like the subscription model on this game. What I love the most is the transparency on the paywall. Nothing hidden so far. Usually I don't pay for free games. This game breaked the barrier. Hope the game will climb on app Annie reports
When you buy 30 days vip you get: - 1 saint wing (worth 15 diamond) and 2 diamond - increase max energy +20, max pvp ticket +2 (this is very useful as you can wait for longer time to come back playing game and doing more thing, for example sleep at night and wake up with a lot of energy and pvp ticket, - vip chest for 30 days, each 3 hour you can open it once, it give 300,000 gold + random item (shield, potion, magic...) - Add 30% gold loot
Here is the new Beginner guide for Rise of Hero which I add more detail and clearer look, I did try to edit the old post of mine but it got longer text (can't submit) therefore I need to post in new reply and have 2 post at the same time. Just bough $5 vip to support dev, i think this game is worth it and im planning to pay every month. For those who is new to this game, here is a simple guide to get u started (pardon for my poor english grammar). Please note that I'm not top player of Rise of Hero, so experience that I share might not be the best and simply my own opinion about this game. My gamecenter is iPlay4812 if u wanna add and play Rise of Hero together. <|| BEGINNER GUIDE FOR RISE OF HERO ||> 1) Hero - Starting: After playing few mission you will have 4 heroes which is Sagittarii, Warrior, Mercenary, Bishop. My advise is to level up them all to level 10 as you will need some power to do mission. Then forget about Sagittarii and Warrior, just use wing (wing is precious, use it with caution) to elvolve and level up Mercenary and Bishop. Bishop is hero you gonna use for long time, but Mercenary will be less effective later in the game but at the beginning level him up make life easier. - Next Two Hero You Should Get: Keep playing mission you will unlock Tavern (currently only sell hero with 100 Emerald but about mission 70 if I'm correct, more hero with 250 Emerald will be available). Your next hero target should be Widow Judith then Lightning Wizard (100 Emrald each) because these have very high damage and can almost K.O any enemies at that state. The reason go for two high damage hero first is because you need that to pass special event that give you unique heroes (if you don't acquire them in time, they will lost forever). About the Emrald, keep playing mission you will be rewarded with 100 Emrald and some others, also doing daily Wagon event give you 25 Emrald total. - First tanker: Tanker is very important, as if the front row lose, then almost all the time your back row will died by the enemies very quick. Dark Rider (100 Emrald) is perfect for this job and he gets skill to absorb damage and heal himself. Later in the game you will not gonna use him but at the early to mid game he is very useful. Or if you want not just completely defnse but also damage as well then you can choose Crusader. - Your first 250 Emrald hero: After pass mission 70, you will see more hero in Tavern. Choose which one is completely up to you, below is my opnion about each of them: + Lancer Llyana: not as high damage as stated in her description, her skill can debuff enemies but not that important for now as you want to kill enemies quick or you will be killed. I think this is not your good first 250 Emrald hero choice. + Lancelot: His skill turn him into a powerful guardians which has very strong defense and damage. He is very good tanker that can deal high single damage. Choose him if you want a stronger defense front row. + Ice Wizard: AOE skill affects all enemies but not very high damage, she looks nice though ! Choose her if you like beauty lol + Mystery Egg: Not so good at healer but buff effective shield to all your team, choose him if you want to play defensive style rather than progressive style at this state. - Two event hero + Mechanic: He deal so high damage but take long time to release all those rocket which can be killed instantly by enemies during that time. I think he is good at mission or boss, but not good in PVP. + Queen Teuta: She has not too bad defense and attack, the great thing about her is the AOE skill affect entire enemies with high damage and can kill any enemies instantly if it has below 10% health. She is one of my favorite as with enough level, she can easily kill all back row enemies with one skill activate. - World boss 1: 1st Felix + To get him you need to win him in the fight (he is at top mid of the map). He is best tanker and awesome AOE damage. Which is great about him is that the more damage he take from enemies, the more "electric" will be charged and evasion is up for him, when full he will damage the whole enemies which can easily kill all back row. Probably a must have tanker hero in your team. - Void Hailer (2000 Medals) He is crazy and must have for higher rank PVP because his skill silence (stop casting skill) entire enemies. Only use in higher rank PVP because you can read in the PVP section to understand. Anyways just don't spend Medals like crazy, try to get him first at least for the feeling of owning a special hero that can change the tide of battle in just one skill ! - Other hero: I did not mention other hero yet since I might understand them in battle when opponennt use it but I don't have them yet therefore I did not list them here. But in this section the most important is your starting team if build it right can help you progress faster in the game, then you will get experience and choose the heroes you like even if is just for the appearance. 2) Event Currently there are 4 event (unlocked around mission 20 - 30 if I'm not mistaken). May be there are more event in the future but below is few important thing about each one. - Wagon: gotta do this daily, it is not too hard at first and you will be rewarded a lot of things include Emrald, Diamond. After testing for a while, I think the difficulties of Wagon event base on the highest mission you are at. Therefore dont advance too deep or Wagon challenge will be hard to pass. - Gold Mine: with this version it is currently not good energy spending as well as gold earning, so just ignore it. - Yeti boss: your main source of grinding gold and loot, never try this alone. Open Game Center icon in game, send friend invite to all 200th - 1st rank player in leaderboard. Most of them will accept then you can invite them to fight boss with you. Remebemr to touch icon I (information) next to them before invite to boss to see how's their formation. When you have free time, consider to send energy to all your friends. - Unique event that give Mechanic and Queen Teuta: If you don't finish this in time you will lose them forever. When your team has Mercenary, Bishop, Widow Judith, Lightning Wizard around level 20-30 then you have a chance to beat these event, hopefully your damage dealer will quickly terminate the dangerouse enemies back row and you will be fine. Remember to use Guardian Shield if enemies always kill you quickly.
3) PVP Base on what I test for a while, I guess here is how the PVP matching and rewarding is. The opponent you will face depends on your rank and the enemies is around above or below your rank (I'm not sure about the exact number but just a wild guess). But how much Medal and Cup you gain depends on your total power (the one that you deploys not count in garrision) compare to your opponennt (the less the more reward you get). Therefore you need to have a strategy to gain best reward each fight. You don't want to deploy too much heroes and you win more often but gain less reward, you also don't want to deploy too little heroes that rarely win. So in short, you want 1 or 2 AOE skill which can damage and kill entire enemies (or all back row), you can deploy another healer or not (depends on how well you know your team and enemies). Also since matching opponnent depends on your current rank in PVP, so the higher your rank the better the opponnent but worry about that later though, right now is still choose your best AOE skill. I also need to mention that people often level up and evolve the best they can but this is wrong way of play when in PVP. For example: - when I'm ranked 700, I use Queen Teuta 3 star level 60. - When I'm ranked 400 instead of upgrading Queen Tueta to 4 star and max to level 60, I deploy a 3 star healer which help me survive and win more often but also the power is less than a level 60 Queen Tueta therefore I have a better reward. - And then I'm ranked 220 is the time I got 1st Felix, I choose him alone, sometime I deploy healer but my healer still 2 star lv 60 (no need for higher evolve yet because will increase total power = less reward). - Currently at rank 27th, since the matching opponnent is more difficult then I deploy Queen Tueta and Felix, try to choose easiest opponnent or quit (if the cost to find next is too high). So basiclly just get a good AOE skill hero, deploy as little hero as possible, besides AOE skill hero (1st Felix, Queen Tueta...) you can add Healer (Bishop) or Buff (Phoenix, Bard...) then if your winning rate is high then don't level up or evolve them, only do this when you start facing difficult opponent more often. 4) Other Tips - Currently I still have only 6 slot, as the rank higher or may be new challenge boss coming then I will open more slot but as the beginning, you should save that diamond for Wing. I'm not saying don't open more slot, just don't rushing it too much. - As saying above, diamond is for Wing (first priority) or if you just have a good day and charge money in and got bunch of diamond wanna buy equip, then I suggest go for 3 star because currently no one confirm yet that they can get 3 star equip from Yeti boss, and two star weapon/equip in shop is not as good as from Yeti (less +) - Equip with Bandit status give you more gold in mission but this will be less effective later on as at higher level you will mostly spending energy to fight Yeti to get equip and gold. But yes, if you want an easier starting time then spend 6 diamond to buy 1 bandit sword, 1 bandit armor then equip to your best damage (or AOE skill). - Potion is precious but need to use a lot, here is a trick to grind potion. Try fighting Yeti for a (or two) good equip 2 star + 3 status Thief (which give 3% to drop potion), then equip to your best hero and only deploy him. Next just fight in mission 10 which cost only 1 energy but got quite a lot of enemies (normally each drop will give you 2 potions). I often see potion drop avarage every 2 run and sometimes it drops more so basically with 50 energy you might get 30 - 60 poitions depends on your luck but still that is good though. - Each energy spending on mission give you 10 exp, therefore when you are close to levelup and still have a lot of energy, try to spend that on event (since this doesn't give you exp) then level up and refill the full bar. - Don't worry too much about equipment at the start of the game, later on you will have more than you can use when you start have a lot of friends and fighting Yeti. - Save those item Potion, Great Potion, Guardian Shield, Warrior Drink, Holy Strike, Healing Wave as much as possible as later on you need those to fight level 100 boss and Felix boss. Guardian Shield can be grind everyday in Wagon event as well as Potion, but the others you can open Vip Chest (3 hours to open each time, until you run out of Vip which give you random good item). - When you gain treasure chest in mission, don't use diamond to choose again because that 2 star equip is not as good as the one you get from Yeti. The only time (for now) you wanna use diamond to choose chest again is level 100 which give you three 3 star item/weapon/equip. Make sure before doing this, ask friend and each of you look at one item to track (is not that fast and 99% of the time you will get it). - After acquiring Saint Level, you can reborn hero by going to elvolve room and click that hero again. But make sure you have quite a lot of gold before reborn as your hero will be lv 1, you want to quickly lv up him again. (Is around lv 40-45) so that a hero after reborn will be equal to his old saint level. - (by Svenkas) When boss use skill normally he will have 0.5s delay which you can use this to your advantage, by quickly realize the signal and touch item in time. As the game updating often so this guide might be outdated, I will try to keep updating it to the current version when I have a chance. Haven't read through the entire thread but the game seems to crash a lot on the iPhone 6s Plus. Usually when I'm trying to fight the yeti. Lucky me, I'm out 10 energy and a friends team. Other than that I'm having fun with this game.
Im playing on iPad and it also crashed all the time, may be when next update come out -> less crashing -> less fun cause boss fight will be too easy no need to worry about his crazy skill called "app killing" loll

Very useful, I will add to section Other Tips and credit you of course ^^ so what you suggest is when fighting hard boss, always put one finger near the item Guardian Shield and if see any effect, background... or something related to that devasting skill then quickly touch Shield ! If you play Dota, this technique somehow related to Animation Cancelling.

Since I did not have or figure out the statistic behind stat yet such as how defense affect health ? How is critical multiply damage or critical rate as well as evasion. So I equip like this as thinking it might be good. I equip weapon + special attack damage for some high skill damage such as Widow, Lightning Wizard, or Queen and Felix (if it need more damage to kill back row in one shot). The equip + percent activate skill, I think will be good on some heroes that can change the tide of battle by activate skill asap such as high AOE damage (destroy back row), Phoenix (buff shield the sooner the better) the hero that can silence whole enemies... Forget his name lol About the critical I think it will be good on Lancelot since he can deal great physic damage now is even better with critical.
